Dhampire12 2009-10-15 . chapter 6It was good but it was still pretty sad! |
 lilt.epiphany 2008-10-16 . chapter 5:(
Chapter V made me cry. -sniff- |
Frodo Silverlune 2008-09-29 . chapter 6Oh my gosh! *sobs* So...beautiful. I love it! Wow. Four stars. Two enthusiastic thumbs up. Blue ribbon! Okay. Wonderful insight. Lovely deaths. Well written. *sniffles* Okay. Ahem. Very good job. Excellent writing, as usual. so sad. |
his dark materia 2008-05-08 . chapter 6 This is probably the best story i have read, and you are my fave author on this site. Could you maybe check over the first chapter of mine? I have to agree, killing Tifa off in front of Cloud is just too tantalizing, because it brings out a side in him you thought you'd never have seen. So mine is kind of the same premise, only could u read and review, plz? Thanks! |
Unpersonified 2007-08-26 . chapter 6I love ‘Ahead on Our Way’. I’ve played the Piano Collection’s version so often that you’ll find the tune being hummed (unintentionally) at random times by random family members. Heheheh. (Do you play the piano, Horky?) The first time I heard it, though (without playing the game yet), it reminded me of Aerith’s death. A heavy, melancholic song, even in a major key, and as Sael said, well-suited to this chapter. Anyway…
The closing finale! Cloud and Tifa depart into the afterlife, with a lingering kiss – a pale, yet ever so poignant reminder of each other – in their wake. Brief, yet touchingly bittersweet.
Indeed, the title ‘Deliverance’ would be hollow without this epilogue. However differently the two may have reacted to the onset of Geostigma, their actions were still (and so unwittingly) bent on self-destruction. Denying themselves true solace by escape instead of resolution, separating instead of working together, all in the belief that they would return purified – so human. And yet they transcend humanity by finding redemption in the end, not through absolution of their sins, but the simple, simple realization to let go. Unfortunately, only death enabled such enlightenment.
And no, I will not dream up an afterlife for them. To do as such will render the story’s meaning void, for only through trial and knowledge of an end did it make itself known. But it is not the end for them, for they will be reborn as intertwined souls – an infinitesimal tribute to the ever-lasting cycle of the Planet’s Lifestream.
Well, I’ve been through this from beginning to end, and conclude that it is one of your most impressive pieces to date, despite its brevity. I’m glad you liked my comments, and hope that I’ve been helpful.
Till next time,

sam 2007-08-23 . chapter 6 i almost cried..and i agree..love confessions become so used and normal it looses its essence..i'd rather read something else if you're going for the traditional and cliche confessions..and i have a suggestion..you should read the epilogue while listening to younha's omoide ni dekinai...it sets up the mood... |
Alma 2007-08-23 . chapter 6Oh my god... brilliant ending! Damn, I'm almost near tears!! And I thought chapter 5 was freakin' awesome... I'm so glad you added this epilogue. At least Cloud gets some form of peace before he dies. So sweet. Loved it! |
Toons 2007-08-22 . chapter 6Good. Be gone angsty tragedy!! Don't take that the wrong way though Horky...I hate reading angst, but if I can manage myself through it, obviously it was good. I think the only little things I've ever written myself were death and tragedy... I think they're easier. Setting the mood for...all that mushiness, and not overdoing it is the real hard part.
Enough about that. Like I said. I made it through, that means it was good. I liked it. And...tragedy it was, it still managed a somewhat closure of a possible happy ending, which is fine with me.
Now...back to the sweet sappy love stories that we all so enjoy. :D |
x.one.winged.angel.x 2007-08-22 . chapter 6Amazing. Absolutely amazing. That ending was just perfect. It was keeping in tune with the rest of the fic, quite sad, yet at the same time it was happy. Your right, I think a confession of love wouldn't have been right, but the kiss was perfect.
You never fail to astound me with you writing. =]] |
Tibbar Sabertooth 2007-08-21 . chapter 6Actualy, I love the epilogue!
Especialy without the last 'ehmahgawd kuhloud, i lurve yous' (lol) and the last minute speech, it makes them seem less like the constant heros of the planet, but more like normal people, the way i think they wanted to be. Sweet! :)
Still, even though you ment fool me i still feel kinda dumb, lol! :P
Anyways, great end for a story that deserved it, well done! ;)

Sael 2007-08-21 . chapter 6There's an FF7 song called Ahead On Our Way. It's like the small village music in the game, and I think that song really fits the mood after you finish this fic. It just kinda leaves you in a heavy mood.
Anyways, beta or not, this is in my top 3 favorite fics ever. It's a mysterious, tragic, and thrilling 5-chapter piece that feeds you with every color of emotion possible. Reno provides the short humor, Yuffie provides the drama, Cloud and Tifa give angst, Vincent gives mystery, and the whole last chapter was a bit of everything. I told you this a million times before, but the characters were so well illustrated.
You're fics get better and better by the day, and this one proves that wholly. Congrats on another masterpiece, Horky! |
stargazer123 2007-08-19 . chapter 5Horky...this is just evil. First in one of your other stories, you kill Denz and Rude, now you kill the two main characters?
Horky, this is just cruel, girl. Cruel. |
Alma 2007-08-19 . chapter 5Whoa. Simply amazing. Beautiful story, beautiful imagery. Wow, this one really took my breath away. I love your writing so much, but this one is your best! ...BEST ...FIC ...EVER!! |
Sael 2007-08-19 . chapter 5Rain trickles down in a rhythmic crescendo as the surviving members of AVALANCHE gaze down in disbelief upon their fallen comrades. The camera slowly zooms out, leaving the jaw-dropped audience to battle their tears as the dramatic music fades in. The screen blacks out and the credits roll forth, and still, the audience is glued to their seats, unable to speak or move in the tragic shock they just experienced. A minute passes by, two minutes, three, and no one has moved.
When the last roll of credits slide out, the black screen slowly fades into light.
The audience is in shock! There seems to be an epilogue of sorts! There may be hope yet! |
Tibbar Sabertooth 2007-08-19 . chapter 5Ahh, the end has come (nearly)! :'(
Okay, I admit, I'm dumb. I didn't realise it was because of Geostigma that Cloud saw Vincent, so I was really confused at why Valentine acted so innocently in this chapter, lol!
And yeah, I really did think that it was Yuffie... :'(
Well, at least Vincent is still alive and kickin' :) (sorry for that cold comment but I nearly died here on my chair when reading the battle... :S)
Thanks for thre quick and fab update, lookin forward to the epilogue!
