Oh yes, I absolutely loved it! I didn't actually cry when he died, but I was very sad and depressed, and believe it or not, it was one of the main reasons why I decided to majorly slow down in my reading, and I still haven't finished.

-sighs nostalgically- good tactic, remembering the good ol' times with that happily psychotic elf... if it makes you feel better, i had to take a few tylenol for the migraine i had after i finally nixed with the majority of my waterworks for dobby at that part of DH as well. i doubt very much so that anyone with a vague fondness for the ever-so-brave dobby (such dedication! such spunk!) went dry-eyed after reading that scene. my mum, sister, and i were sobbing our eyes out, me especially because dobby, hagrid, percy, and snape are my favorite characters, and two of the four of them DIED! POOR DOBBY! A TRUE TRIBUTE TO THE HONOR OF HOUSE ELVES EVERYWHERE! [...at least the ones in the HP series...] then again, look at the bright side! even though the books have him die, fanfiction writers in HP can always pretend that through some elaborate and clever reasoning that dobby didn't die and can have him live on forevermore in the fanfics that they write! just look at the number of fics that have sirius black as one of the main characters!
