Sadness, but, of course, beauty as well. They're two great things to put together! As you can tell, I really enjoyed this little fic. Everything she said was all too true, and I just hope that Christian took her advice. Great work!

Ok, this is gonna sound incredibly vain (forgive me, please!) but I feel like you are one of the few (or only) people on this site besides myself to whom Satine really "speaks" (yes yes yes I know how immodest that sounds! I really do!). I read this and feel as though she's really writing it, just as I feel she's actually moving my hand across the page when writing her "memoirs" in (*warning-shameless plug*) Fairy Tale No Longer.

And I just do so respect the fact that you don't end this with "Come what may" as the last line, that in fact you don't use it at all (overused, folks, sorry!) and that you incorporate "How wonderful life is..." in a way that is somewhat ironic-Satine now being able to see all sides of the situation clearly. "You haven't forgotten, either-and it's holding you back" is pure pure Satine.

Hats off to you-but you already knew that.
