I know someone that doesnt celbrate Christmas at all. She says it is just a way for store to get more money.
I celebrate it with my mom and sisters.

An according to the Shoebox Project- which I view as essentially the canon of the Sirius/Remus pairing- Remus does not even like Dickens. /I/ don't like Dickens. And I /really/ don't like A Christmas Story.

But, if the idea was a little flawed (honestly, I don't think you could get any more cliched if you /tried/) then it's made up for in execution, at least. You're a very good writer. Just /never/ write a parody of Charles Dickens again.

Brilliant! I love how you retell the story - and especially when it came to the third ghost, it's just so sad. =)

This is a clever and unusual idea, A Christmas Carol with Harry Potter characters. I like Nick, Lily and Peter as the spirits who show Sirius the three Christmases, and Regulus as the ghost, they all fit very well. The dialogue is really well done, each character - and spirit - speaks in his own distinct voice. And the picture you make of Remus persistently trying to be kind to Sirius, and to get some kindness back, is very touching and believable. "He stalked into the Great Hall, and never saw the slump of Remus's shoulders or the corners of his mouth fall." That sentence says so much more than it actually says. But I think the story could go further. In Dickens's Christmas Carol, Scrooge does change the future by his change of heart. Couldn't Sirius do that too? The Peter-spirit hints at what he must do. He must befriend and care about the real Peter just as he does James and Remus, must make Peter feel one with them all so that he will never betray them. The story would have ended more hopefully if just a sentence had been included to show Sirius giving Peter true friendship and making him feel equally loved and valued with all the other Marauders. Then that Halloween 81 thing might never happen.
Of course I do like the ending as it is, with Moony getting at last the reward of his faithful love. That kiss is very sweet, in more ways than one, and not in the least "icky".
Your writing is very good. Just one thing that drives me mad whenever I read it. "All Sirius had to do was make himself lay down" - that should be "lie down". Lay = transitive verb, has to have an object, you lay something - an egg, the table, a ghost. Lie = intransitive verb, does not need an object, you lie - you lie down, lie in bed, lie on the floor.

your italics don't work...but it's an okay story...i liked some of your others better...

Oh, this was adorable. I loved the idea of Nick, Lily, and Peter being the ghosts. Sirius was wonderful, poor Remus was so cute, and James got lucky in the end. I positively loved it.
