 dust-princess 2008-03-19 . chapter 1...i want another one. |
The Pixess 2007-08-23 . chapter 1Wow- I can't even think up anything else to say, because I'm just in awe and staring at my computer screen drooling slightly. Well not literally. But you know :)
I thought this was a really unique character analysis, and I've always been intrigued by Turtle Heart- particularly his intentions towards Melena. He didn't really seem the type for "dragon-snaking" to me.
Really well worded (no dialogue! Though speaking of which, I might have liked some explanation as to his little speech impediment or whatever you wanna call it, but I get why you wouldn't do that with no dialouge- way too confusing) and I am so adding it to my favorites |
omg.it's.wickedjelly 2007-08-11 . chapter 1Aw, CARDBOARD! Long time no talk. PM me back, you, for your...um...presence has been missed.
"And Turtle Heart, of the constant neglect from his father, *a as* well as"
Only nitpicking small things like that because I know (um...think?) that's what you like. Right?!
Anyway. I have to say, I was *extremely* pleased with this, yes, very much so. I am in love with Elphaba/Turtle Heart fics, and since there aren't too many, this filled me up for a good long while.
You rock my socks. |
 JonDosh 2007-08-09 . chapter 1Oh looky looky, I'm BACK!! :D
Wow... that was a great insight into Turtle Heart's thoughts. It's been 4 or 5 months since I last read Wicked, and over 2 years (GAH! has it really been that long!??!) since I saw the musical, but I don't really remember there being that much about him in the story. I wasn't too fond of the cheating aspect, but you gave him a reason for that, and the loneliness worked nicely. In canon, I loved the way that he seemed to care for baby Elphaba as a person, not a green monstrosity. And you portrayed that perfectly.
I don't generally read much outside the T- and M-rated stories, but this was worth it!

Noodlejelly 2007-08-09 . chapter 1 I don't think I've ever read a Turtle-Heart fic before, but I'm jolly glad I have now. This was very well written and a fascinating take on Turtle-Heart, who isn't an easy character to write, but you gave him a backstory and thoughts that made him a very enjoyable character to read. And I loved your descriptions of baby Elphaba. |
tortoiselover8 2007-08-08 . chapter 1Great fic. It's a shame we get so few fic's about Turtle Heart, he is one of my favorite characters.
You did a great job capturing him. He was very believable, and I like that you gave him a backround.
One small thing, Turtle Heart actually didn't die the night Elphaba sits on the tiger beas's lap. I had thought he did until Frex later says he got slain by Munchkinlander's possessed by the Time Dragon, the day Nessa was born.
Not a big issue, still a wonderful fic none the less. |
TheWarrior12 2007-08-06 . chapter 1Nice job! The detail of Turtle Heart's life were well written. The story seems so simple but I think has a powerful ending/meaning. Well done. |
TryDefyingGravity 2007-08-06 . chapter 1Aw, that was lovely. I like Turtle Heart in the book, and I thought you characterized him well.
Good job =] |
bulale 2007-08-06 . chapter 1this is simple fantastic.
when i was reading wicked i did wonder about turtle heart - why he was there, how he came to be like he was - but you have managed to write your own thoughs down in the form of this fic. it is a real good read. Enlighting even ;)
thanks |
LostOzian 2007-08-05 . chapter 1Huh. Gregory Maguire didn't give that much development to Turtle Heart, and this is excellent backstory. When you were describing how he loved to blow glass, I was inescapibly remindied of the Musicalverse scene at the OzDust; Green and pink. But yeah, I saw the musical before I read the book, and they both hold dear yet separate places in my heart.
Turtle Heart's very perceptive... I kept getting the feeling throughtout the whole Munchkinland chapter that it was like Elphaba was born a full human. I do think Elphaba's early childhood made her; it was Fiyero's death that broke her.
I /think/ at the end, he was refering to how he couldn't shape Elphaba's life and shouldn't have tried to... am I right?
And I'll share the cyber cookies with you. But I'm saving one for Turtle Heart. -LostOzian |
