Jack and Fabrizio are meant to be portrayed as being the best of friends and you don't portray them as friends at all. You don't show them working together, or supporting each other, or comforting each other. You just portray them as a couple of total assholes who hurt each other for nothing! You ought to be ashamed of your sorry self for perverting two of the most lovable characters in the blockbuster film Titanic! I suppose you think that it's funny! It is a very good thing there are a lot of categories you do not write in, such as Star Wars and Harry Potter, I mean who knows what you could do to the beloved characters of those movies! I hope your account is removed for inappropriate content. If I ever see you in real life I swear I will slap you real hard in the face, you goddamn no-good, lousy, mentally pathetic excuse for a fanfic writer whore! (I was gonna say bitch but whore fits you better)Jack and Fabrizio do not even belong in this story if it is about Rose after Titanic and they are dead, such kinds of flasbacks only detract from the story, they don't do anything to improve it. You really must be one of the worst fanfic writers in the entire world!
Considering how much what happened in chapter 26 really HURTS me, I could never flame enough. You honestly should have never written anything about Jack with Fabrizio, you just plain haven't got the correct feel, nor the correct sense for it, like me and Ivana do.
I understand your qualms about the story. I have a very different take on characters you love, but remember, 1) Titanic is just a movie and movie the both of us like quite a bit 2) and most importantly, this a only a fan fiction story, anybody can write anything they want in them as long as we're respectful to our fellow readers and authors. There is very little right and wrong as far as the content of fanfic goes.
Here's my advice to you: you don't like this story - so why keep reading it? It makes you angry, it pisses you off. Cheriehap, I've spent 3 years on this story, I've worked very hard, but you know, it's okay that you hate it. It's cool. Unless I have something construtive to say, I don't review stuff that I dislike and can't follow. And I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say that if you read further in "The Unsinkable Rose Dawson," you STILL won't like it. So don't read it anymore, you'll feel lots better. You're a person, you have opinions and very solid views on how you feel these characters should be. This story is different and you don't like it. And who's to say, maybe it is bad, it's okay. But the best thing for you to do is to read stuff you like and we can both keep writing our stories without attempting to make other writers feel inferior.
Lastly, I'm too young to be lecturing people on good form and too old to engage in flame wars. All I ask is that you no longer review my writing, and please do not answer this reply, it's not making either of us smile much.
The Vianne episode is quite pointless, and I absolutely do not believe either Jack or Fabrizio would ever be that immature, not even as teenagers I do not. Jack is so much smarter than that, and Fabri is not the jealous type, and also he does not handle frustration in that way. It is just as absurd as it is unneeded.
And I am staying firm in my views of this and the other chapter in that they are not logical.
And L, Shut up!
L 6/14/04 . chapter 23
Cherihap -
It's actually a fairly common reaction to abuse or whatnot is that sort of naive idealism in this story. Plus, having the crap beaten out of you in 1910 wasn't exactly unheard of.
OK, back on topic, said character, Fabrizio, has one abusive parent but still has a close relationship with his mother and sister, bringing in a personal note, I have one friend that was abused by one parent as a young child but still remains close to the other...that person is almost militantly naive, and quite idealistic, easily excitable.
I understand your offense but its offensive as well that you can assume that someone with a dark past can only be a dark person. That and you can criticize but you've placed yourself among that wonderful group called flamers...aka your review was disrespectful. Yes, reviews can be angry but still respectful. Especially the part about you pointing out that YOUR STORY was good. That's assuming the author has read your story and I'm sorry to say it does not inspire this reviewer to read it. That's really low and self-centered and rude. And I checked, Abby Normal never left any review for your story, let alone a bad one. Please do not blast others' stories to advertise your own. There's a certain etiquette that comes with this internet community of ours AND YOUR NOT FOLLOWING IT. This is a particularly polite author. Show her the respect that she's earned.
I also don't get why you would read this far into a story you seem to hate so much. This is one long mofo and you got to be really into to read more than a few chapters. You also seem to be the first person with a big beef on this story, it's pretty creative, diverse, historically colorful, with very realistic characters. OK, I'm biased, I like this story a lot but man, there's so little intelligent Titanic fanfic that isn't all fluff and this one feels like something worth its salt. Is anybody else with me?
I HAVE to state that your explanation for why Fabrizio wanted so much to get to America, and how he met Jack, is not written from logic and that MINE IS (and Fabri is really too joyful and well-nurtured to have ever been abused). It's really STUPID.
