Very good and tragic with a nice touch at the end. Shinji being a clone and little clues just spread all through the story, i was impressed especially with the dummy plug twist, and Shinji's confession to Asuka when he was hit, all in all good work.

An interesting take on the 'Shinji is a dummy plug' idea. I enjoyed every last second in reading it. Everyone can imagine the effects, but having it seen in practice in this fic really expands our ideas. Great one-shot. Too bad it's just a one-shot.

Great story. You had kind of a cool twilight zone style feel to it. Your attention to detail is really good too. I loved the touch about Shinji noticing something is wrong because he doesn't have callus on his fingers. It's small details like that that make a story really good. Keep up the good work. Don't sweat that it's a short story; I think in this situation if you tried to make it any longer it wouldn't work. Short and shocking are usually best for horror stories. Keep up the good work.

Nice work, Dartz. Obviously, I like the premise, and you've handled the characterizations very well. The twist with Asuka was a nice touch, and Gendou came off as strangely sympathatic to me, but it completely worked nonetheless and made Shinji(II)'s final fate even more jarring. Overall, I thought it was very well done, a welcome addition to the ficdom.

Now, to get working on my own "clone" story...

good story. i could predict the end but that was because i've read stories alot like it. whole cloning dead shinji and all. but this seemed like you can do dark twilight zone/ jacobs ladder type stuff well. so what i am saying is if you feel it go with it!
please tell me your decision.

Awesome story. You should do more like this. And its kind of neat because I still don't know whether there was another Shinji clone to take his place...

Not bad at all Dartz. Just my opinion, but it did seem a little bit flat emotionally, but, as you alluded to, it's not your usual fare. Don't give up on trying different types of stories though, you're certainly a good enough writer to make it work.
