I don't remember the last time I read anything that created and sustained such a moody, haunting tone, and did it this well. Lots and lots of good choices in how this is written. My only suggestion is to keep the verb tense consistent, but otherwise, a very nicely crafted piece.

Interesting I liked it but I dont get how it falls into the hurt comfort category seems more like a tragedy mystery story to me. Anyways it was very nice it just draws the reader in!
