I LOVED the conversation between Mark and Derek! What great insight...I never thought about Meredith and Mark having ANYTHING in common, but after reading that...It makes PERFECT sense! Derek put a sense of belonging and importance into each of them. Granted, at different times, and in totally different circumstances but he did that for them! I totally got it!

And yes, Derek saved Meredith, but she saved him as well! They are indeed lucky to have each other! Thank you for the conversation!

LOVED the bath!! And the fact that Meredith got in it on her own and was waiting to tell Derek about her nightmare...I LOVED the fact that she WANTED to tell him and wasn't shutting down as she usual does! Thank you for showing CHARACTER GROWTH! This HAS changed both of them...For the better!!

What can I say? I've loved this story from start to finish! THANK YOU for taking the orginal storyline and doing it the way I WISHED Shonda would have done! It STILL irks me that this whole thing was sort of swept under the rug and that while we got to see how it affected Derek, Meredith never really talked about it, as if it never happened. I was SO disappointed with how it was dealt with on the show and this story portrayed eveything SO WELL. Thank you so much for filling in the horrible gaps Shonda left us and for staying true to the characters atthe same time!

That was really wonderful. I love how open Mer is with Derek in your fic. Although it took time, she's finally there, something the show has been dragging out for a few seasons now (gr). Love it, I assume that's the end end? Please start another fic soon!

First of all Derek is finding his way back to his best friend.(oor starting to..)
And meredith made a huge step, taking Derek by surprise. And Derek really deserved that. Cause he's been holding Meredith up the whole time, and finally meredith seems to learn and to let him in...WOW:P

great chapter, loved the symmetry between the first and last chapter, with Derek leaving work after a stressful day and the bath, a perfect ending. loved how completely trusting of Derek Meredith is and Derek making an effort to patch things up with Mark. I think the candlelit bath scene at the end being the complete opposite of the first one was a perfect way of showing that all though she wasn't comlpletely there yet Meredith had/was/is working through her fears raised from drowning and was going to be fine.

Oh my gosh! That was an intense memmorial but SO well written!

I must admit, I'm not liking Alex on the show but I adore what he did for Meredith in just chapter...He basically said (without saying it) I know you're life was crap, just be honest with your Mom..) And I know part of him was thinking about his own past and wishing he'd been honest more. FABULOUS way to bring that in while still keeping it centered on Meredith!

I LOVed that Meredith finally, FINALLY got everything out as far as her feelings about her Mom and how she felt. It kind of reminded me of the scene between Ellis and Meredith on the show, except this time, Meredith didn't hold back! And I had to resist the urge to stand up and applaud when I read that (can't have people thinking I'm more nuts than I already am! ;) ) That was wonderfully portrayed...And I love that everyone was around to hear it!

Man, I adore Derek. I know it was tough for him to leave Meredith after such an emotional time, but I love that he understands that Meredith needs some time with Cristina and Izzie. I loved their conversation and the fact that Meredith INCLUDED Izzie and not JUST Cristina. I feel Izzie's frusturation on the show as far as that goes and I was happy to see that you make it aboutthe THREE of them!

I think Mer admitting that she knows she's lucky to have Derek is a HUGE step for her and I was grinning like an idiot when I read that...:) I'm looking forward to seeing what's next!
