thank you for this alternate ending. I read lots of fanfics where Snape continues to live, and many came up with a plausible explanation. he used a bezoar in one which had been soaked in an antidote beforehand, in another story he had built up resistance to the venom for about a year and managed to survive etc. I so wish that he could have lived a peaceful life. he is described as a very complex man, driven by an old love obsession, guilt, responsibility, honor, remorse, so many feelings, but I don't think any love other than the one he felt for Lily was part of it. And I love the possibility that Hermione could be his true love. She has so much in common with him; they would never be bored with each other. the amount of HG/SS fanfics on this site is enormous, and for good reason.

BTW, do you know "the apprentice and the necromancer" and "where your treasure is" ? both are very long fanfics, and both are brilliant!!

Wonderful! I think it is not only a excuse for saving Severus. I think that HP is not so diffrent from King Arthur and Merlin Saga. There are so many versions, and they are like fanfics, only they are older.. or not: Bradley, White etc...-

Thank you. That was lovely. It has taken me all these weeks to start to feel better about Snape's treatment in DH and it is FanFic such as yours that have helped. Even those who wish for death have a funeral, so those who loved them can grieve properly but JKR didn't give us even that meagre comfort. I can still remeber my feeling of horror when I turned the page to find she hadn't written the 'last chapter'. Thank you once again.

Thank you for your story. I too want to believe in a miracle, and I've been struggling to find a way since I've read DH. I simply don't accept his death, but dare to hope instead that even in canon there could be miracles.
He'll never ever be gone, as long as we remain faithful. His time is not past and future to us, it is an open book, and we can choose to live in any of the pages.

You have caught Hermione’s essential nature perfectly and through her eyes and words, we can share the tragedy of Snape’s life, the hope for a better life, for the redeem and at last for a deserved love.
We all feel this sense of vengeance for Snape and now the way is open to give him freedom in life, not with his death.

I agree whole heartedly with your statement.I've always wanted something better for Severus Snape,then what he was dealt! Atleast in fanfics that dream can still live on.

I did not like the way J.K. Rowling ended Snape's life. I have read alot of people agree that he should had a chance at life. I agree with that he should had a chance to live.
It is not fair.

We who love him will not fail. (I'm trying to work on an original universe where he will still suffer, but will eventually triumph, create miracles, and love. Enough people have done it with others. Given the way his original creator has apparently dumped him by the side of the road, I feel no compunction about it, actually.).

Maybe Deathly Hallows and the whole HP series is a bit like the paintings in the Wizarding World -- painted by an artist in a particular pose and setting, but then set free to pursue their own stories within the parameters of the canvas field.

Or perhaps the HP story is more like a modern day Arthurian legend, where one finds all sorts of outcomes and stories, but with the same large cast of characters.
