I always had a hard time with the idea that the Doctor would just leave Rose and McCoy stranded, particularly since in the previous episode he had promised Rose he wouldn't leave her. So I really appreciate this fic, which has Rose provide the idea for his entry and gives as much of her blessing as she can. Very nice.

Yeah, this is about what I imagined this necessary missing scene as being like, too. Well done, especially on not making Rose out to be a jealous wench - I luv it!

Blimey. This was... This was really, really good. Amazing, in fact. It was so charged with emotion that, I must admit, I felt an awful lot like crying. But I loved it so very much. Because you paint both the Doctor and Rose in really admirable lights. The Doctor is doing what he does best - saving people - while Rose demonstrates just how strong and caring she is. I think it's beautiful that she would be so supportive of him. And I agree that it's unlikely the Doctor would just leave, without giving Rose any indication that he realises what the action will mean for them.

The unspoken goodbye between them was so, so beautiful and heart-wrenching. I mean, "We’d never see each other again. You’d never feel my hand, my breath, my arms around you, again. You’d never see me again. We’d never see where this would go." That is definitely awesome writing. Choked me up and all. And the description of the final look is just... guh. There are no words, really.

This is the scene in the episode that I needed to see. And because this is beautifully written and beautifully in character, from now on, it happened. In my mind, anyway. Thanks for this. :D

yaya! i always thought a scene like that should've been in there, but i suppose it is interesting how they leave it to our imaginations ^_^

hey! yay, that was fantastic! i m so glad you decided to show rose as supportive of the doctor saving reinette as opposed to jealous, cause i really do think rose understood the necessity of saving reinette. this was a great fic. kudos!

This is an interesting take on a very difficult moment. I agree that Rose respects and admires Reinette, and I find it plausible that she would've encouraged the Doctor to save her. You could do an epilogue for his return. Nice job.

It did seem out of character didn't it that he just went through that mirror without a word to Rose?

Like you I would like to belive that this did or happened beforehand.
