I have to say that I loved the sentiment you have here. While the main story of the game focuses on a plot rather that a love story, I always liked Vaan and Penelo as a couple because of the sort of childhood girl and guy-next-door simplicity.

You also added that great bit about Vaan envying Balthier about having a father "even a rotten one". That's excellent. Going even further with the lack of normalcy that Vaan has to deal with. Good stuff.

That was adorable. Vaan took all his smooth talking from Balthier, I'll bet. XD

The writing here is excellent, for the detail is good but not overmuch. Good work.
