Again, this is beautifully done. The whole "Major Case Squad" was a good idea, I could totally imagine it happening... In canon Nakamori and his squad could appear a bit more experienced, given that some of them have chased Kid for YEARS. : )
I also liked the way he did notice Toichi's suspicious death. And the timing of it, too. He wasn't suddenly unbelievably smart or anything - he just wasn't blind or stupid either. Or naive enough to question it too openly...

And the bit where Toichi could almost be seen or heard... but not quite... ; o
