Ok, sorry about the sucky review! Power went out and it posted before I was done.

Anyway...

Wonderful backstory on John. What kind of father lets his wife compound a tragedy by denying the very existence of their son? Makes me glad John never told the boys he had any family.

This story makes me hurt for John. And I hate him! Now I have to go watch 'Something Wicked' to get my hate back!

Excellent little story. Poor John, I love the way you imagine the family that created such a man and how dark it was. Great stuff.

What a wonderful, plausible backstory for John. Beautifully done, John's voice is perfect, as is his pain and his reaction.

So, what happens when Cathy finally tracks Dean down and learns her big brother is dead? ;-)

“I’m looking for Claire Winchester’s room.”
“Who’s asking?”
“I’m her son. John.”
“Mrs. Winchester doesn’t have any sons. None living.”
Ouch! This can't be good.

“It’s me, Mama, it’s Johnny.”
“Johnny’s dead. Died in the war...Lost him and my Sammy, all in the same year... My poor little boy...”

Amazingly, beautifully heartbreaking. I would love it if you turned this into a series.

There is a not so small part of me that would love a story about the boys somehow meeting this extended family they've never known now that John is gone. Actually a really large part of me. There are so many possibilities there...

Absolutely heartbreaking, by the way. I can't imagine how terrible this would be for someone - being erased from your family in such a total way. Great character piece for John.

That was excellent! Poor John! I know this is a one-shot, but I'd like to hear more about John's family & his growing up.

I would love to see if you write more to this story, it would be intersting to see if Sam and Dean find out.
