I really, really enjoyed this. I liked how you had Ed the glue that kept them together, sometimes with understanding and sometimes with his own special brand of tough love.

For just going with the idea, I think it worked out very well.

That was lovely! I can imagine that if Al wasn't there to keep peace, Ed would do so. I loved the way you wrote the things he did for them both, and the fact that if he couldn't smooth things over, they'd make up because he was getting distressed. Very sweet! :D

I have to say that if caffeine withdrawal makes you write things like this, all caffeinated products should be removed from your reach immediately. :)

I like how you have Ed being the peacemaker in the relationship. It seems a little ooc until you really think about it. Without Al there as a calming balm, I can see Ed taking up that role.
