XxMeli J NightlyxX 2008-07-25 . chapter 7I loved it, it was beautifully written! |
Airezi 2007-12-19 . chapter 7Sweet! This is an excellent story! I love the insights into the gundam pilots pasts, and the idea of how much training/conditioning they had to go through really fits into the story. You did a nice job with adding some details in every now and then (ex. Doctor J's robotic hand, trowa's facial expression). I can't wait to read the next one. |
Dragona 2007 2007-12-03 . chapter 6I apologize for the length of the review. I hadn't seen that you had seen EW.
In any case, I have links to:
-unremoved, full dubbed versions of eps 1-49 (which I downloaded, via realplayer)
-a dubbed copy of EW, (using, again, realplayer)
-Evolve 7 (a non-canon bonus ep that was a promotional item with the 7th buildable gundam model) (again, downloaded via real player)
-access the really rare OVA Operation Meteor Even and Odd I and II. However, the issue with this, is that it's raw and I have yet to find a working, translation of this OVA. I have this both in a link to a slow, but still active torrent that features full episodes, as well as a link to an anime viewing website that features all 4 episodes chopped in half that you can download via realplayer.
-scanlated (fan translated, but it does make sense) copy's of Blind Target, Episode Zero, and Ground Zero. The same website also has access to a raw version of the actual manga for
Battlefield of Pacifists, as well as a link to a unedited translation that makes me want to scratch my eyes out. (I'm still debating if I want the manga that badly, at the moment.) The mangas are all direct download, but you would have to copy and paste any and all translations.)
-a rough trascript of the EW manga, but there isn't that much difference between the movie and manga, as far as I can tell. (you would need to copy and paste this)
-basic info on Battlefield, Episode Zero, Ground Zero, Operation Meteor Even and Odd I and II, EW (episode transcripts, movie transcript, and the manga trancript mentioned earlier), and the main series (episode transcripts for all episodes and some of the manga transcipts) Some of the manga on this site are actually scanned to, but they aren't neatly packaged and ready to download.
-A ton of worthy websites that have all been recently found. However it will take me some time to sort them all out, as they were found in the hunt for the elusive translation of Odd and Even. |
Dragona 2007 2007-12-03 . chapter 7First of all, please all me to say that any harsh comments that I may make to you are not of meanness. This is intended to be constructive and helpful to you. (It's actually quite rare that I take the time to post a review, but I feel that you could use some just a smidge bit of guidance here. P.S. Stop reading right here if you don't want spoilers!) I'll critique your understanding first, before reviewing your fic by itself.
First of all, your characterizations aren't that bad for most of the pilots. You were almost spot on with Trowa, given his amnesia, despite the fact that it is assumed that Zero actually gives him some or perhaps even all, of his memory back. Duo, towards the end, actually becomes a little more more somber, due to seeing his former overzealous, and even a little naive, nature in the character of Hilde, but you were close . With Quatre, I doubt that he has yet to accept his father's death. It was only in like the last six series episodes that he was able to master the Zero system, due to his fear of it driving him insane.
Heero seems a bit too forgiving, given that he has been one of the few that has been treated the harshest of them all. I would have a Heero, from that kind of training and just finding out the deceptive nature of said training, to actually kill the technician, not adopt him, despite whatever the wishes of 02, 03, 04, and 05. Lastly, Wufei is very OOC. Given what you had seen, there was no way that you could have know that Wufei would actually witness the distruction of his colony at the hands of his elders, during a battle. This event sends him over the edge and causes him to annihilate the White Fang in revenge. In fact, Wufei's anger isn't actually resolved until the end of Endless Waltz, despite him actually killing Trieze. In fact, Wufei actually seperates from the Gundam Pilots due to the events of the manga "Battlefield of Pacifists." He joins soldiers that cannot adjust to a suddenly pacifistic lifestyle in Endless Watlz, actually becoming an enemy of peace, as he believes that while the war may be over, the people still didn't want peace. In the context of your fic, it would have actually sped up his defection to Marimaia's army in EW. Wufei would have also killed the tech without question.
In regard to the scientists, J, H, G, S, and O, actually redeem themselves a bit in the last 2-3 episodes of the series. They are the one that save the earth from Millardo Peacecraft's modified version (the one crafted by Quinze) of the original Operation Meteor (the one crafted by Dekim Barton). They risk their lives, hitching onto the outside of Deathscthye Hell, to gain passage back to Peacemillion's remaining woring engines, managing to blow them up and hurdle a large chunk of Peacemillion and Libra back into space and away from the earth. It is assumed, but never confirmed, that they, as well as Quinze, died in the attempt to save the earth. Given that Howard says that the chunk that is still hurdling towards the earth will cause an never-ending winter, you can just imagine the damage that would have been caused if the entirety of Libra, let alone Libra and Peacemillion, had crashed to the earth, per Millardo's plan. I'd call that redemption enough. Dekim, also, does die in the end of EW.
As a fanfic, all in all, I think you did very well with this, given a lack of information. The last half of the series simply moves so fast that I'm actually in the process of writing my episode summaries, so that my own planned GW fics can semi-stay in canon. In the process of trying to to aquire various episodes and mangas, via torrent and direct download, I've managed to find most of the gundam wing material, excepting an english translation. If you want my assistance, in finding said canon material, I've managed to keep most of my link in my favorites, so feel free to send me an email.
I'm more than happy to help, as I think the idea for this fic is golden and has a great potential for a satisfying rewrite (to account for unknown info) and a tantalizing sequel that I hope that you will be writing. |
Sora the Taske 2007-11-09 . chapter 7I like it. Well written and it makes sense because you tied in their pasts that are known. Well done. If you want to see the entire series try going to It has GW and a ton other anime. |
apelilly 2007-09-07 . chapter 7*claps* I like it! You did really well in the GW universe in my opinion. The characters were well done. I wish I could write one-shots about them. XD Can't wait to read your other stories as well. The Zechs/Noin sounds adorable, and though I do like my slash, I'm willing to read your non-slash fiction. Keep up the good work. I'll continue to support~ |
apelilly 2007-09-06 . chapter 1You're very welcome. I like the idea of your story and am looking forward to seeing more if you are willing to write. I am enjoying the story and have to say that for your first time with the genre, it is very good. Glad I could show some support. |
