Well, I liked this. The writing was smooth and I can see Kain lurking in the shadows but never venturing forward. The thought of him immediately ready to kill some tongue-wagging fellow seems rather startling, but they were talking about his unrequited love... .

Interesting take on poor old Kain, and I loved the way you incorporated the title into the fic. Nice. :D
