the title was my favourite part! It fits right in with the Buri-Kel crazy lady scene, and it describes Evin&Miri's characters very well. &it was funny too!

I really liked it! It was a fully contained one-shot, in character, and you caught my attention with a word like stripy.

Great writing. I just love Miri/Evin.

Now you mention it, I always did wonder who told Buri someone was shooting with a stripy bow.

Good story! Could you write some fluffy evin/miri fics though please? There hasn't been any good ones recently. Good job on the ficlet.

This is just a lovely little piece. And many of the lines in it seemed to perfectly epitomise how I view the somewhat dysfunctional yet none-the-less capable Queen's Riders:

Firstly, there was this little piece of gold:

"...she had never before known so many of her colleagues to rise so early without serious physical force, large bribes, cold water or national emergencies being involved.."

I can just see myself fitting right in to the Riders as I tend to linger in bed unless woken by my incessant parental units, bribed, or have to go to school.

Secondly, there is this one which is now my favourite description of Evin's personality ever:

"Even Miri could be more alert in the mornings than Evin, who required half an hour and breakfast or an emergency to restore him to the level of a functional human being, after which he was typically insufferably chirpy."

Overall, I think this was very well done and I'm sincerely looking forward to reading some more of your stuff. (And I'm also very glad you've been on my author alerts list for a while or I never would have found this little gem.)

I like all this extra depth and detail. There isn't enough about the riders and this little scence is lovely.
