I really like the way you incorporated the Sabriel-style necromancy into this story. It seems very natural, not forced - it seems completely reasonable that there would be rare magical talents, that work slightly differently without putting their practitioners on a completely different power level than other wizards and witches.

I like the rest of the story too, of course!

So I was going through my author alerts trying to find a good story to re-read and I noticed that this story, which I thought abandoned or on hiatus, had a lot more chapters than before. Which means that, for some reason, I'm not getting my alerts from fan fic for you :(. So, I've started at the begining and will be reading through to the sequel lol!

Oh my god. The tears. I haven't cried this much over a fanfiction in ages.

Wow- just wow. It's 1:32 pm now, and I started this story last night at four pm. I continued reading it until I reached chapter 201 at 1:30 in the morning, fell asleep, and then woke up only to finish the story. It was absolutely amazing.

I was a bit disapointed by the fact that Quirrel was Alina's father; since you said that her father had a weak chin (when she looked in the Mirror of Erised), I was expecting him to be Karkaroff- in the book he is described as having a weak chin, and he would wear teaching robes.

I really loved the fact that Hedwig and Dobby came back! As you had been referencing Greek/Roman mythology quite often, I thought that the guide would have been Hermes when they heard wings, but lo and behold, it was our very own Hedwig. I couldn't stop smiling sadly. As for Dobby, I was hoping that he would be Lily and that both Severus and Harry could speak to her once more, but Dobby was definitely great, too.

Also, I definitely appreciated all of your author's notes describing real world situations/mythology that you incorporated into your story. In all- great job. Your writing was superb, the chapters short and easy to understand, and though I thought that it ended a bit abruptly, it was a(n) (overall) well paced story with captivating ideas, plot lines, and allusions.

Keep up the good work- now I'm off to read the sequel!

It started off promising... but honestly I have forgotten most of it. BUT since I've read all 251 chapters, that means it was really interesting!

Draco's death was so sad, and the method was rather imaginative!

You pulled the plot together brilliantly, and while it was sad that so many people, especially Hermione, were hurt in some way by the end of it, I think that made it more realistic.

I am enjoying this story and savoring all the references and nods to other fiction. It's an especial joy to encounter Father Brown in chapter 239 and onward. He's quite true to character.
