Bloody hell!

This was one of the best Harry Potter fanfics, that I have read in ages!

First, off I will say this. Severus Snape is definately not one of my favorite characters, lol. I'm usually one of those fans who generally sticks to the canon pairings. But every now and then I get curious and decide to try reading a different pairing (Draco/Hermione, or Hermione/Snape). But I started to read Where Your Treasure Is by zeegrindylows and discovered your fanfic in her favorite's list so I simply had to read it.

I have read at least one of Garth Nix's books and I recall liking it but I don't think that I've read the last two (makes note to do so over Thanksgiving break).

I loved the humor in this fanfic, the romance, the action/adventure and basically just everything! The deal between the Church and the witches/wizards was a very interesting twist to your fanfic. I also am glad that Umbridge got what she deserved (ugly pink fat toad she is...)!

It took me just about over a week and a half to finish reading this fanfic but it was well worth it!

I'll check out it's sequel soon enough :-).

Keep up the very good work on any other fanfics that you write!

Wonderful chapter. Aint no party like a Slyth party!! Nice to a change like this for Snape.

Now I'm confused about whether Snape enjoyed himself or not, and I don't want to leave the story to go to the forums to find out more. Of course I'm not reading this in installments, as originally published, when that wouldn't have broken the flow.

So I hope you un-confuse me sometime soon here!

I really like your view of Slytherin House and I'm glad you've given us this look at it. I've often thought that the wizarding world, and Hogwarts teachers in particular, would have to do a lot of active peace-making after the war in order to overcome the rift between Slytherin and the other houses. In fact, part of the tragedy of Snape's life was obviously that teachers allowed bullying in the first place.

Anyway, I'm greatly enjoying this work.

I don't know if it is just me but for some reason I am jealous of Alina and Snape's relationship. Just seems like he wants to be her father where-as he doesn't want a child with Hermione right at the moment, because of her schooling. I understand that but he just seems to like Alina a lot more.

Just discovered this story, and I love it! :) It'll take me ages to ever finish reading this though!

i just looked at the chapter count !200! freaking chapter dude this thing is huge
it will take me forever to read this (but i am looking forward to it), i am glad because the picking of the fanfics i might like (pairing wise) have been pretty slim of late mostly one shots or short storys and i am glad to find a long one to occupy me until more stories finish( i prefer reading finished fics because then i don't have to wait forever)
i cant wait to read the story and i hope it is more than worthy of its length (though by the little i have seen at least it flows well and is decently written

Love it so far. I just read the chapter titles and think I'll need an extra box of tissues. Nice you found someone for Ron.

Ich habe fertig, ... und werde mich gleich begeistert auf die Fortsetzung stürzen.
Ich habe selten eine dermaßen lange Story gelesen, bei der es gelingt, die Spannung von Anfang bis Ende aufrechtzuhalten. Man trifft auf viele liebgewonnene und auch unliebsame Charaktere und auch die OOCs sind wunderbar gelungen.
Was mir sehr gut gefällt, sind diese liebevollen kleinen Details, die mitunter dann 100 schlappe Kapitelchen später sehr wichtig für das Verständnis der Story werden.
Und dann die vielen Anspielungen mit den wunderbar gewählten Kapitelüberschriften. Ich hoffe, die Draco Fan's haben nicht allzusehr gemeckert, dass das tragische Ende des Malfoy-Sprosses ausgerechnet mit Douglas Adams in Verbindung gebracht wurde. ;-)
Es gibt ungemein tragische Momente, aber auch Vieles, was mich schmunzeln ließ.
Was noch? A ja, der Inquisitionsplot: wunderbare Idee, vor Allem in Anbetracht der Tatsache, dass wohl die wenigsten wissen, dass es diesen Verein wirklich noch gibt.
Ich bin jedenfalls begeistert in die Tiefen und Abgründe Deiner Story abgetaucht.
Und jetzt gehe ich weiterlesen ...

Your quote, especially being Olde English (Yes I went looking) may also be misspelled in modern English. Leath could maybe be Lethe (River of Forgetfulness in death mythologies) and Ligh... my best bet on that one is Lie.
Although as the rest of the charm refers to the cross, my brain wants to say it's referring to the positioning of the arms of the crucifix. The "Leath wand" being the upright in the use you've used - to anchor to the ground, and "Heaven's key" the cross bar - your bridge back. Anchored in life, bridging the Veil.

Sorry, you finished this story ages ago and all I'm doing is speculating because that's what I do when presented with things like this in religious history.

Good story, potions ingredients works well for a sleeping potion.
Valerian - herbal base that valium is derived from
Poppies - opiates - word of advice, don't eat more than one bun with poppy seeds on it for lunch then drive, 2 is enough to tip you over the limit for an opiate drug test.
Hops - sopofiric.

The only thing I don't like about your story is something that I don't like about all HP stories that use the Dreamless Sleep potion in it somewhere. But I wrote a drabble about it because it frustrates me so much anyway *grins* Feel free to go read it. Dunderheads is the name under my nick here.

Ich habe schon viele Stories gelesen, auch viele sehr gute, aber was Du hier abziehst, ist genial.
Du schreibst in der Denkweise der Zaubererwelt, von diesem Blickpunkt, den auch J.K-R. einnimmt, schreibst es fort und es ist eben nicht gut, so wie man uns 19 Jahre später einreden will.
[Das ist mein massiver Kritikpunkt an Rowlings, mit diesem letzen Kapitel macht sie eigentlich Alles unglaubwürdig, … es ist zu süß].
Du hast es geschafft, glaubhafte neue Charaktere einzuführen, wobei Alina mir einen Tic zu tuff ist, aber ansonsten bin ich begeistert.
Auch Deine Erzählperspektive (hauptsächlich neutral, aber dennoch aus Hermines Sicht, snapebezüglich sehr sparsam) erzeugt ungemeine Spannung.

Nun hast Du aber gerade Umbridge gemeuchelt, ... aber dann wurden früher bereits dies armen Kreaturen gemeuchelt, die gerade solch einen Duftstoff erzeugen, ..., der wurde ja auch gerochen, als der Colin-Inferus angriff.

Jedenfalls ist der süssliche Duft GANZ wichtig.
