I don't think this was a failed attempt at anything. Granted, the scene with Ruka and the piercing could have been polished a little, but it wasn't bad. The ending was sad, but I liked the "dance of the hearts" metaphor - it was very poetic, and very appropriate. The only thing I can really say to improve it would be to make it longer, elaborate a little on the development between them as partners and friends and then more. Other than that, very good. My heart was able to dance with it, at least! :)

I really liked your fluff. You did a great job with that,especially if you have trouble writing fluff. Don't feel bad, I do, too ^_^' Outstanding job!
