I prefer seeing my happy endings, but it was interesting

Another excellent story! Your stories are always unique in some way! This one was haunting, sad, hopeful...John spilled his emotions onto those tapes, like I imagine, he really didnt think anyone but his captors would hear...I cried tears along with Elizabeth at his abuse...The ending left me wondering-kind of like it "up in the air" as to what happens-but kind of feel cheated of your version of the ending at the same time...Wonder why John didnt make it home right away, why has a week passed? Where is he? Obviously he made it to the jumper and away-but he was obviously hurt badly-Is he unable to fly home? Did he die? Ok-I will go with my happy ending version where John had to land somewhere remote, so he could get well and throw his captors off his trail...he figures a week to recuperate should be enough and you ended the story just short of the "Unscheduled Activation...Colonel Sheppard's IDC"!

A great device, not naming anyone at the start and of course the reader knows none of the messages were ever sent.

The gradual realisations throughout the recordings are nicely scattered with direct messages to the others and half a conversation as he knows their responses so well.

I like the ending, bleak as it is. There's still hope, so not all is lost. And it's nice to be able to imagine our own happy ending, however it comes about.

I know it's been a little while since you wrote this; but I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed it!

Good story but i would have liked for Shep to get back so we could all share in the whump recovery stage - Sequal to it might be nice!

Oh- so sad. Hope you do an epilogue or something cause I want to know if John gets back safe and sound... good story though.

AWESOME! I really have never read a fic like this. The imagines John's gave me, through his messages, were so vivid I could almost feel his pain.
