Well, I was prepared to NOT cry; I knew what was coming. I nearly made it. This is a beautifully conceived story. I think the final "remembered conversation" is perfect - it seems to be a scene and dialog that these characters would actually act and say. I prefer happy endings, but you have implied and shown snippets of a long happiness preceding this moment and even the happiest of lives must deal with this transition. Well done.
