I had to read them aloud, otherwise my mind kept trying to speed them up. I think the style fits very well with the intent, though I also think it prevented me from hearing Ratchet's 'voice' (or maybe I just need to reread this after watching some Ratchet episodes, heh).

It's certainly provides an interesting look into the way lines are blurred when medic and patient, commander and subordinate both become lovers. It's bittersweet for the both of them, knowing what they can and can't have. You've conveyed this very well in this fic.

The way it is written gave it the impact it would not have had if it was written normal. Each line became my heartbeat and each pause was a constriction until the next beat. I truly love feeling as I read. Thank you.

woot -- an update i didn't have to rush to read before class in the morning!

hmm... usually i don't read stuff that's in poetry or other non-story formats. i find that for some reason it disrupts my concentration on what's happening/being said/being felt, like someone's interrupting me after every line. however, since i'd been so gleeful when the update showed up in my inbox, and since i know you don't turn out bad stuff (plus the new title intrigued me), i read it, then re-read it until it flowed right.

i wasn't disappointed. at all.

the rhythm of the piece gave it a sort of haunted, melancholy feel which fit the characters and their situation perfectly, and smoothes over rough edges that i feel might have been there had it been written in normal format. it's beautiful, made more so by the lack of flowery symbolic language. and it's heartbreaking. there is also the sense that ratchet isn't just describing this one encounter, but every encounter, past and present, even as the conversation gives this encounter a sense of uniqueness. the use of first person amplified every feeling of the "story" and helped look deeper into the character than otherwise. ratchet's complete selflessness and his insight into both prime's character makes everything feel like stark truth. and i feel like optimus is breaking inside, which makes me want to cry for both of them.

this has to be easily one of my favorite smutty transformers fanfics.
the pairing isn't even one i'm particularly crazy about
but hooray for intresting ways giant robots have sex!

So good! I especially love the image of Megatron licking Soundwave's buttons. I think I've gotta draw that...
