junebird28 6/12/13 . chapter 51It may have been a cliched, JK Rowling ending, but I loved the end of Harry potter, so by default, I love the ending of this :D In all seriousness though, I absolutely adored this story. I think it's my favorite in the e'ara stories, but that may be because of the added focus on beast boy and raven. I love nightwing and starfire, but beat boy and raven have their own special charm. And I adored cyborg and babs together. Mad cute, seriously. When I saw that you were doing the end of the world thing again, I started cringing and I almost stopped reading cause I was like this has been done already. But then you put such a huge twist on it and when you killed everyone, I had to know how you would bring then back (which you actually did very well). It was just a phenomenal story. I can't pick a favorite part because I loved them all, but I was so incredibly happy when Starfire and Nightwing got back together and I loved the part in Azarath. It was just so good. And aide from everything, your writing is exquisite. The story would mean nothing if you didn't have the ability to write to back it up. Bravo on a job amazingly done! |
moonshine dolly 4/28/13 . chapter 51I really like the way you write. It's like a fight. There's always something coming; lulls and swells. Oh! And my Poppa calls us 'Tin Lids'. :) |
Electricboa 4/11/13 . chapter 51And here I thought it would be hard to top the last one. There was just so much story packed in here I could easily see it having been broken up into two or three stories. You really do like torturing your characters, don't you? I definitely approve, as long as everything works out in the end. You really did work up the tension between Nightwing and Starfire more than I expected, looking back I could see it being built upon from the previous story. Something overblown like that was bound to happen, since Nightwing kept reacting poorly to those kinds of situations. Plus, there's nothing like sending Batman to deal with an emo Nightwing. Still, the reconciliation was plausible, and a long time in coming after all the time that had passed. There were a lot of sweet moments intertwine in there that eased the angst, that I think really worked towards the benefit of the story. I was a little shocked that you killed off Blackfire, she really did have a redemption arc going there. I can see why, though. The only thing that I probably would have altered a bit was Starfire's father. After being built up in the previous story, and early on in this one, I expected him to be more of a lingering villain. His fight was epic, but burned out a little quickly. The Cyborg and Batgirl romance was actually quite intricate, I never really thought of them together before, but after reading this, I can really see it. One of the hallmarks of a good writer is being able to do something like that, getting the reader to care for a couple, even if we never seen them together before. Raven and Beast Boy's story was fascinating. It was interesting to see the darker side of Azarath, how even they could be corrupted. Everything built up nicely into the last act, with Raven finally giving in to her Father, the first version of that battle was so sad. You really gutted the Teen Titans, and to see the effects twenty years later was something I really didn't expect. I've seen other stories take time travel and it usually becomes a canard, but you did very well to avoid that. Pretty much everything I said in the previous story regarding character development are just as applicable here. I have to admit that I'm a little depressed to see that this is the last novel in the series. If I had my way, these stories would go on forever, they are truly that fun to read. I'm mildly consoled to see there are a few oneshots to go. I really don't know if there are more novel-length stories in this series to tell, I can only imagine how much time and effort it takes to write something this fantastic. I really hope you consider it. Besides, trilogies are so much more fun that duologies. Regardless, I would like to reiterate just how magnificent this story is, and the series it is a part of. I have no doubt that the other vignettes follow the same standard of excellence. |

TwiYaoiMindfreak 1/25/13 . chapter 42Holy shit... where the tissues at? Killing characters is something that I think makes the story more intriguing, but now I am blubbering like a baby. I'm not mad that you did it, but shit better have a happy ending or I will be distraught for at least several hours... |
