If you want to put a conversation in Spanish or Latin, italicize the text and state that the conversation was in that language or that the individual speaker said it in that language. The reader should not have to stop half-way through the chapter and scroll to the bottom to figure out what is happening and then scroll back up and struggle to find their location again.

C'est Moi 2008-01-19 ch 1, anon.	abusetwo things: firstly, yes, 12 is too young to be an eagle scout, because you need roughly 20 months of "leadership time" and you cannot start on that, or on earning actual merit badges, until you graduate from cub scouts and move to a boy scout troop. this requires that you are either 11, or have earned the "arrow of light" which one must be at least nine years old to do, as it is something earned as a weblo. (cub scout9-11 years of age) secondly, earning the rank of First Class scout ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT require that you earn a single merit badge. there are requirements that must be fulfilled, such as knowing how to tie specific knots, basic camp skills, and basic first-aid, but it is feasable to know all of these things without earning on single merit badge. I know this because at the time I got first Class, my only Merit Badge, was riflery. (there is no requirement anywhere in scouting that is remotely related to guns.) (besides the riflery and shotgun merit badges, niether of which is eagle required.)
