I really liked this. Usually, I go for dialogue-y works, but I really loved the fairy-tale gone bad feeling oft his story. Great job!

I love how halfway through the story it's like the background changed and it went from a happy rainbow to a dark, bad kind of thing. Very good, a kind of metaphore for how Voldemort came to be thirsty for power.

This is amazing. You really got into Tom's head which is very hard to do. I like the last paragraph. "His young blackened heart" perfect description. Couldn't have said it better myself.

That was so good! "To people like Tom, books were a form of escapism." Yeah, that's basically me, too. =D

And I loved the entire lats paragraph especially. It was really powerful and kind of depressing. "The book, such a vibrant book, dimmed until it was like every other book. It’s own punishment for showing a young boy rainbow magic."

Melancholy, but in a really good way. Fantastic job!

Interesting story. There are some similarities between how I see a young Tom Riddle and how you portrayed him. This isn't my favorite piece (as I just struggle with the idea of Tom having ever been that pure) but it was nicely written, and oddly bright for having such a dark ending. It was fun to read.

This was very well written, I loved how it showed Tom turning into a bully and being upset about losing the book. Great job.

It's really good. It really makes sense because you show tom with a pure heart and an innocent mind until he discovered magic and revenge took over his other emotions. A bit like why a jedi can't fall in love? Yes, I am going to shut up now.

It was really interesting. I like the idea of a magical book like the one you described. And I like how the book faded at the end. I also like the phrase 'rainbow magic'. lol

kind of cool, though I'm a little confused on what the book is about.

Aww! The last line was just... it tied everything off perfectly.
I love how you wrote that Tom wanted to capture a rainbow and put it in a jar, because it shows him wanting to capture things and be in control, like his older self.
