A very poignant story. The sort of story that shows the depth of feeling between Magnum and Higgins, in spite of their many tiffs (but we know they weren't serious, right?).

Told from Magnum's memory, it brings a lot of emotions to the surface. Magnum always did remember things, even those things he wanted to forget. But this memory, he could not and would not release.

The gun battle was sketchy, and the picture "ransom" was rushed, without a solid motive for the exchange nor the gun fire. Perhaps this was merely a vehicle for the final goodbye? If there had been more meat to that conflict, the story would be more well rounded, I think.

But, your story did bring a tear to my eye!
