This is ridiculously adorable! Your story was recently recced on the KakaIru LiveJournal community and I'm glad someone decided to post it there. I can completely see Kakashi settling down and running a bookstore, and I can also totally see him taking on the Icha Icha series as the new author.

Wow! I can't believe I've never read this before! I'm stupid!! This was such a sweet story! The first part was great-I was shocked when you told us the shop owner, not the kid, was Kakashi! Great bit of misdirection there! And the rest of the story just made me grin, espcecially the part about Kakashi writing the book. So great. I'm still smiling!

This was so beautiful and sweet and oh god, my eyes are misting. Seriously, romantic and sweet and UGH WHY CAN'T THIS BE CANON?!

*calms down* But seriously, I loved it. I never knew this was something I wanted to read until I did. Nice to know there's life beyond being a ninja, after the missions and duty. Looks like a great one too. ♥

A very sweet story, I think it's the first one I've seen here with an utterly unique storyline. You've done both of them a wonderful favor with this story, even if getting there was a bit rough on Kakashi.

Wow this is a really interesting take on them in their later years! I like your vision a lot and it seems plausible! :D Thank you for sharing too bad it was so short I'd love to read more about them in this universe!

I don't doubt that Kakashi had already pondered constantly and continuously What to do if he was somehow no longer a ninja? Having him write icha-icha was just perfect and so like Kakashi!
Knowing Kakashi's line of work, having lost what he did was indeed a "small price", but it makes me happy that he is happy in the end.

Oh. That was beautifully written. It took an unexpected turn in the bookshop that I hadn't been expecting, however, it was all for the better because the way you wrote it was perfect. This is wonderful. A bookstore seems like a natural transition for Kakashi. Kakashi and Iruka grew together, as it should be. I like how you showed that life goes on, in spite of the things that happen to them. This is very thoughtfully done. Thanks for posting.
