I absolutely loved it. It would be the right universe to combine Doctor Who with.

I wasn't really surprised by Akane's suicide. I mean, watching the anime and all, I can see that happened. Sick of always being watched, having Mahya there to watch the two constantly, etc.

But... Martha with Akane's GEM... WOW. I think I got inspiration for fanart.

(BTW, saw your link from animesuki forum. :) )

"Shizuru died simply because I was out to get ShizNat fans. Yes, I hate 'shipping, and I'm bent on ruining official couples — why do you ask? Note that Natsuki survives. That's because I have plans for her..."

Yeah, I got that impression from you. I wonder why you're so against it though? 'ship hating is like racism, only far less substantial and far more petty. I myself am against some pairings true, but only because the ones I dislike would prove quite out of character. You have also demoted Natsuki to a sidekick (something I've always -always- found demeaning applied to any individual character). Even the Otome capabilities have been downgraded; honestly, reflexes slow enough to have the doc pick at the GEM?

It really is quite depressing to see such a big fan of Dr.Who. I watched a few part-episodes myself, but still don't understand why you like it so much. Oh, and I'd continue on with a verbal thrashing if it weren't for the fact that I find individuals who do such things disgusting as the blind, abrasive arrogance expressed in such actions go beyond understanding. To counter a bond that literally transgresses time and space? To...perversely warp a person from within to suit one's own ends? To erase a self and remake it anew in one's own image? Celestial authority notwithstanding, that manner of action is quite literally unimaginable to even an agnostic determinist (not quite fatalist) such as myself. I value the (questionable) integrity of the individual you...are beyond words.

As for writing? This solipsistic arrogance you express hardly befits your skill level. Your half-baked writing relies far too much on faintly interesting plot and lacks characters with any detailed definition whatsoever. They have no drive and are about as bland as that garbage they serve in London. Pretty much the only reason I read the first two of this setting's series is interest in the plot; in more of a critical eye than one of amusement.

If you haven't gotten it by now, this is mainly because of your actively demeaning the Mai Otome series. You used this series to boost another, something as depressingly egocentric as that I cannot overlook. You like a weak series yourself; it's much less likeable than even Star Trek (which I don't much like either) and much less creative as well; don't go actively offending others who do the same with a different series. If tech theory is your game, I'll beat on you so hard even I won't find it funny.

*sigh* I'm so mad that I'm talking in circles...

Well that was quite cathartic. Thanks for making me furious I suppose. That emotion is somewhat more welcome after the post-exam rut I've been suffering. No more perverting/warping characters past belief please, something like that speaks volumes of your character (and hardly in a good way in this context).

Heh, good catch, Wingman. I was going to address the absence of Miyu, but forgot. Even in BTS notes. Simply put, it was a time-critical scenario, and Miyu was too far away to reach Windbloom in time. The same holds for the Garderobe teachers, students, and the other three Columns: they couldn't reach the city before the Fumi System went down.

I liked it overall, i agree it was a bit fast paced, but it made sense, not like otome itself... good resolution and explanation of elements such as the Administar.

My only problem, where was MIYU? She could have kicked Kokuyouseki and been back in time for (android) breakfast!

sasswot20 (sorry for replying here, but I can't reply to anonymous comments), I think Mai-HiME is just dandy the way it is, so I'm not going to cross it over with anything. I have plans for a one-shot with Miyu and Alyssa, but that will probably be the only one in that timeframe.

So... does this mean that Martha and the Doctor are going to pop up in Fuuka anytime soon?

Or heaven forbid... the Doctor and Donna (nothing against her, but we all know we don't want to see a super powered Donna).

I appreciated this story and especially two things: the explanation you gave about the role and the story of the Obsidian Lord, that was totally nonexistent in the HiME series, and the presence of the Doctor (totally in character, by the way), who provided a sort of critical look to the Otome System. Perhaps, he could have been even more critical considering that, from a scientific point of view, some of the things they assume in the series (like the whole nanomachines allergic to the SRY gene) are totally weird.

on a whole this story was OK

it struck me as a bit too fast paced
the villain, motive, confrontation and solution were good
there had to be a death to show the doctor the consequences and mai was a good choice

the only bit i can truly say i despised was the doctors antigay rant
It goes against a lot of my beliefs
and natsuki should have killed him for even suggesting she never really loved shizuru (i might kill you come to think of it)
this is otome, offical sources cannot be denied, the love is real

enough of this, i shall leave you in peace
but i may never read another of your stories for fear of desire to flame it

Too bad the Doc's never come to Earl before, it would have been funny to have the Fifth Doctor (who IS blond) get mistaken for the other John Smith before.

Evolution of the Daleks came right before, I suppose? Is "he lives" supposed to refer to Kazu?

There's a minor typo: "is a school that trains Otome, and I am its current headmaster." Did you mean "It's"?

Where did "Four-Dot Ellipsis" come from?

Which alien species are you referring to and which Time Lord? The Master? The Rani? The Meddling Monk?

And that's that. :D
