Nymma 2009-09-06 . chapter 1It's an interesting comparison-comparing characters to chess players. Well done:) |
A-zla 2009-02-05 . chapter 1I found this over the close contrast community. It's a great story, very moving. Well done! |
 mcgoogles 2009-01-26 . chapter 1wow. just wow.
this is incredibly well written, with a good rhythm. i can't even find the right words to describe what was so good about it, but it was amazing.
thank you. |
Chemistress 2008-06-21 . chapter 1Wow! This I had to read twice, very slowly the second time, taking every sentence one by one...But I loved to do so, it is a very unique piece of art to me. I loved the end "On the night...". The part about Minervas brothers is especially hard to understand: did you make one of them a Deatheater? |
bookworm914 2008-02-01 . chapter 1This is really great. Your use of the metaphor is, I think, the best I've seen. Fabulous work. |
excessivelyperky 2007-11-02 . chapter 1Magnificent. To someone whose world is chess, it is only natural to think in such terms. It's too bad she didn't have any thoughts about Ron Weasley as a player, though--you would think she would be surprised to have someone so young beat her chess trap for the Stone. I love the ending, especially because after seeing everyone's weakness she's found her own. |
 usiylover2 2007-10-24 . chapter 1Amazing. Absolutely amazing. I'm speachless. |
Ladybug21 2007-09-08 . chapter 1Whoa... awesome fic! I mean it! That was really cool, the chess analogy and everything. I loved the way you described Dumbledore as a chess player. Great job! |
 pol 2007-09-07 . chapter 1 Phenomenal. Truly. |
DailyProphetEditor 2007-09-06 . chapter 1Hey, this is quite beautiful. I was a bit worried at first because the chess comparison cliché is used so often but... I was wrong to worry. Very nice idea to use not the game, but the chess set to show how Minerva's life developed. Of course she's the White Queen, and Severus is the Black Knight - but they have lost their kings and the colours mean nothing anymore.
Beautiful idea. I only wish the last paragraph about their last game had been a bit longer, with more detail, you know? But it was heartbreaking. I can so see them sitting together in a stormy night, playing a dead draw for the fist time, somehow close but so far apart from each other. |
Minerva Medica 2007-09-06 . chapter 1Love the chess idea, had to include this in my Minerva stories collection immediately. Wish it was longer, though, somehow it is perfect just as it is. |
piccolajules 2007-09-06 . chapter 1yeah...well the timeline was completely made up,but the idea is brilliant and written in such a way that this flaw is easily forgotten!definitely one of my fav |
MarinaB. 2007-09-05 . chapter 1I loved this story!
It's perfect, and it doesn't matter whether the dating is out of canon, that's a common thing about almost every fic.
And I completely agree with minniequill! Wonderful, absolutely well written story!
I'll keep an eye on your next fics ;]

Athena Keating-Thomas 2007-09-05 . chapter 1Wow. This concept is very well written and thought out. If you like Chess (and even if you don't), try out Midnight by the Weasley Watch and all of that author's HP stories. :) |
minniequill 2007-09-04 . chapter 1Strange? Yes. Wonderful? Yes.
I can't explain it, but the imagery was superb. The chess 'thing' has been done many times, but you have done it justice. |
