I really enjoyed this story, SG. It the first of yours I've read, but certainly not the last. I liked the premise of the boys taking a time out, especailly given their injuries. Missouri is the perfect person, give the absence of their father, to help them realize that they need each other and have to truly work together.

"You ok?" said Sam, softly and Dean gave a slight smirk.

"You know you should just have that put on a tee shirt, Sammy. It'd save time."

there were a couple of other quotable lines, but this one was perfect. You characterizations are pitch perfect.

A lot of talking and fellings... I love that, we can't see that so often in the series XDD

Missouri to the rescue. :)

I love it when the boys have a third person to confide in and I love it even more when that thrid person isn't afraid to speak their mind and tell the boys exactly what they need to hear.

"You should be able to face this stuff together. It's the best way you can face what's coming"

This line spoken to Sam by Missouri really struck me and I certantly hope they keep this in mind throughout the fourth season, becasue when they keep secrets from each other and try handling things on their own all Hell seems to break loose.

There was a lightness about this chapter too and it was a pleasure having the boys take it easy for once and really healing before rushing on to the next job.

"But as she stood there she shivered for a moment and she was struck by a horrible sence of foreboding"

Well... this line had made me a tad bit nervous, and I don't need anymore anxiety than I've already got, concering those two. LOL

Ah, I just LOVE this stuff. I have told you before that "YOU RULE" haven't I? Well... it still stands. :)

:) I love Missouri. She's one of my all time favorite guest characters on the show. I was so excited to see that this story involved her.

Poor boys, busted up again. I know I probably sound like a broken record, but I just adore the way Sam manages to get Dean to do want he wants. And I loved that Missouri noticed the same thing too. I'm so glad they're there with her.

Another great story. I'm sure it would have been tons better if I had read it in the correct order. I printed it, read chapters 1, 3, and then 2. Wondered why I felt like I missed something. Anyway, I always like stories in which Missouri shows up. I didn't particularly like the way she treated Dean in Home but your story made it better. Again, fantastic story!

You had Missouri down perfectly! Amazing. I love her and wish she'd come back from time to time.

I really enjoyed the interaction between the three characters in this story. Sam reaching out and receiving emotional help from Missouri, Dean struggled to keep his emotions in check but allowing Missouri to touch him (not just on the shoulder) but emotionally at the end was a relief. I really would like to read a part 2 to this story or have Missouri pop up again.

I always thought the boys were stronger together, I'm glad Missouri agrees. And I love the moments they act like kids (the prank war). Nice ending.

I liked Missouri's lines to Sam, "Just be his brother, Sam. That's all he needs from you..."

It was nice that Dean listened to Missouri's words, but it would be hard for him, 'just wasn't in his nature to let someone else take care of things for him, to be the one protecting him.'

When the brothers talked and Sam asked, "And what if you're not around?" I flashed on Dean arriving to late to stop Sam from dying, yet he did save Sam by making the deal, but what happens to Sam if Dean dies in one year.

It was nice visit with Missouri, but don't take this wrong, I could picture this story at Toby and Jean's with more ?. But maybe that was your goal, a quiet piece. (I hope that doesn't sound mean.) It was good as always, so thank you for sharing your story with us.

yay lol. I loved that story. Really nice ending, too. A really sweet, short story and yet one more that I'll add to my favourites and read all the time... :) great job.

I just love Missouri and your rendition of this wonderful feisty woman was nigh perfect. Dean's disquiet at being near here initially was offset by Sam's obvious need. And yes Missouri meets that need in Sam offering him up some hope that not all is blanketed in evil, that he still has hope, still has his own strength of will to continue on fighting. Great chapter, great read.

Great final chapter! Missouri was so right, the boys have to tackle whatever is coming together, that way they are stronger!

Just loved the way she took her hand from Dean's shoulder to his head when he cussed, just so Missouri!

For all their maturity and the seriousness of what they faced on a daily basis, sometimes they were no different than a pair of kids.

Loved that bit, and it's a release valve they really need, as most of their life is serious, always dealing with the possibility one of them will be seriously injured, if not worse in a hunt!

And loved the ending, Dean winning the battle with the loudness of the music and them both setting off down the road, waving at Missouri! Not good though that she had a bad feeling they were going to need all the help they can get!

Awesome story, well written and believable from start to finish!
