Great story!! I love how the Head Housekeeper appreciated Babara!! It's nice to do a good job and be appreciated for it!! I'm also glad that Lynley didn't push for sex, because then I'd think he was just using her like the others!! I really enjoyed reading this story!!

It's great to see some more ILM stories, especially with a shipper slant. I thought this story started very well, with a nice atmosphere and lot of excellent detail into the hotel world. I do have some issues, however, and they are with the plot and characterisation. Plot-wise, I'm not sure why they needed to be undercover - and for so long - in order to get the kind of evidence they were looking for; perhaps this should be clarified further.

As for the characters: I can't imagine the Barbara Havers from either the books or the TV series taking too well to being a maid in a posh hotel - or offering to cook Lynley whatever she likes. I think she's just too proud of her inability to cook...

Nice story. I'm glad to see some more ILM stories -- and I'm a bit of a shipper so I like to see the possibility of a relationship between them.
