I agree with how you mentioned you almost don't want this continued because it's so disturbing. As disturbing, saddening, as it is, the idea of Hojo's "love" and its effect on Sephiroth is amazing. It's a sort of twisted beauty. The only analogy I can think of is how disasters sometimes fascinate people to the point that they can't look away.
Some of the italics in the second chapter really emphasize Hojo and Sephiroth's version of love. "His helpless, devoted mother..." for example. All I actually know about FF VII comes from fanfics, so I assume that in your interpretation, Zack doesn't make near as big an impression on Sephiroth as people like to think. Was Sephiroth sidetracked from trying to isolate Cloud by Jenova or was Meteor partly an attempt to take it beyond isolating him from people? That much thought is entirely unnecessary, I know, but it's... fascinating.

Interesting ideas! I like the way that this is written - it's almost like an information book, rather than a usual story. It seems to me that, so far, these few chapters are like the prolouge, building up to a story.
Good work! And don't worry about the whole "it's wierd" thing. I think everyone has a little corner of their brain where this sort of thing lives, and sometimes you do need to let it out - no matter how odd it seems. Reading it through, I didn't find this a freaky as I kind of expected.
Oh, and I think you might have over-used the itallics a bit there. I don't mean any offense, of course, but there was a lot of it that could have been removed and still had the same effect.

This was very nicely done, very dark, but very nice. I loved the way you described him loving his army. I can see that very clearly.

I think I like the KH version of this pairing more, because it could actually be some kind of real relationship.
