abuseI just love the one-liners, they are brilliantly witty and so Jools Siviter. You have captured in this scenario the inherent vulnerabilty that always seemed to lurk beneath the surface with Danny - Harry was right to be nervous about his issues with money; addiction is weakness and Danny's addiction to money would at some stage get him into trouble. As it is, in this story, it's left him in the clutches of Siviter. Still you can't help but have a sneaking admiration for Jools with his sharp intelligence, biting caustic wit and sense of style. With the old adage only cream and bastards rise in mind, it's perhaps not surprisingly that those who have climbed to the top of the tree - Siviter, Mace, Juliet Shaw - all are exceptionally ruthless, manipulative and ammoral. Harry shares some of their ruthlessness but his decisions are tempered by a desire to do what is morally right - perhaps one reason why he has remained Head of Section for so long.
