| ConfuzzledAtLife 2008-08-04 ch 2, | abuseOMG, another story of yours that made me cry! I feel so beyond sorry for Legolas. I like to think that if I were an elf, the sea longing just wouldn't affect me for some reason, because it sounds just so traumatic. That story is so good. I love it to death. Thank you so much for sharing it. |
| ShaolinQueen 2008-04-28 ch 2, | abuseThis story is amazing, so melancholic. Another on the "best" list! Your ability to describe the intensity of Legolas feeling was awesome, great work, really. |
| Kayla 2008-04-21 ch 2, anon. | abuseaww that was a good story. i really liked it. |
| Aranel Lissesul 2007-12-04 ch 2, | abuseWow...this is truly...wow...I'm floored. This is incredible! I love this story, it is an automatic favorite. You did a wonderful job portraying Legolas's mental and emotional pain, and Aragorn's anguish for his friend and brother. Excellant job! You should write more on this story, I know you intended to end it here, but I think you should write at least one more chapter, I would like to see how Aragorn deals with his frustration of not being able to 'really' help his friend. Again, wonderful, masterful job on the story, I really enjoyed it! Ara |
| Keji 2007-10-21 ch 2, | abuseOh shoot! This was so sweet! Well, sad and sweet... especially those last lines. It's unfortunately that nothing can be done for Legolas' sea longing, but at least the presence of his friend helps comforts him where nothing else can. You know... it's a horrible thought that mortals and elves would forever be separated after death and sailing... what if they do end up in the same place? This was very heart breaking and also very heartwarming... Great little story Wolf... and of course, that little bit of humor that you are known for placing in your stories, even though the situation is soo not good, is always welcoming. Just makes me smile regardless how sorry I feel for them both. |
| Keji 2007-10-21 ch 1, | abuseIt was justified alright. Aragorn's concern is always sweet, but of course, it's too bad his concerns are always justified, since that means that something is wrong with Legolas... Ai, I can just picture Legolas there... poor elf. Congrats on your Third Place win in the contest. Let's see what happens now. It's weird to have to first read this story from this web site lol, since I had always been lucky to read it first from Teitho. |
| Mirwen Sunrider 2007-10-11 ch 2, | abuse*gives them both hugs* aw... how sweet. Well done. |
| iccle fairy 2007-10-05 ch 2, | abuselovely end to this story. the descriptions of the sea are wonderful, especially the magical one of it being liquid silver. really love this! well done! fran ~*~ |
| spiritstallion 2007-10-02 ch 2, | abuseLove this story |
| Lady ElfDragon 2007-10-02 ch 2, | abuse*sigh* It's sad that nothng can be done, and maybe someone will right a imaginative fanfic where SOMETHING cures it, or makes its effects less...who knows? But for now, Elfy is just going to have to deal with it, isn't he? Great fic, chappie, and writing! As usual! ^_^ Until next story! *waves* ~Virali :) |
| Silivren Tinu 2007-09-28 ch 2, | abuseDo I have to tell you how much I liked Aragorn's concern about Legolas? ;-) I loved your description of the sea longing, //"Yet, the song is so powerful, so hauntingly beautiful that I do not wish to escape it."//. I always thought that its beauty and the fact that it is supposed to be something good must make it so much more difficult to resist the sea-longing. It also shows how strong the bond between Legolas and Aragorn really is, that it enables Legolas to withstand the call. I love that Aragorn does not even waste a thought on the banquet during the entire story and that it is so much more important for him to be there for his friend. :) As a healer, the helplessness must be so difficult for Aragorn to bear. //“No, Estel, your greatest skill is not in your hands. It is in your heart and the way you choose to share it.”// So perfectly true, and to have a friend like that it far better than any medicine. I thoroughly enjoyed this story from beginning to end and will go to feed my c2 with it now. *g* |
| Silivren Tinu 2007-09-28 ch 1, | abuseHere is your faithful snail reviewer again. *g* Real Life can be so entertaining. :P Anyway, it is nice to be right with my Teitho guesses for once and btw, this was my first place vote. :) I can only repeat that I like your Arwen - she reminds me of mine, whom you haven't met yet because the story isn't finished. ;-) I liked that you mentioned how familiar Legolas is to court life and formal affairs due to his position and upbringing and Aragorn's thoughts about Legolas suddenly being both friend and subject. Somehow I don't think this is a problem for Legolas at all. *g* I always imagine Legolas to be the perfect candidate for Aragorn to discuss state affairs with, among countless other things. //“If you are worried about Legolas,” Arwen told him, “go and find him.”// You simply have to love Arwen! I very much enjoyed your description of the gardens, especially the hidden part of them. I always imagined that there would be gardens in Minas Tirith and that Aragorn, Arwen, and Legolas would spend a lot of their time there. ;-) I wish I could spend some time in your hidden gardens, too. What a mean place to end the first chapter, not that I expected anything less from you. *g* I'll be back to review the second chapter after dinner. :) |
| SkyChild 2007-09-25 ch 2, | abuseAwh, that's so sweet... sweet and painful at the same time, like sacrificing yourself for the sake of others, as Legolas is doing. I'm sure that Aragorn found peace in the end. You can't help but be at peace with friends like Legolas, friends who are loyal to this point... though it's painful to watch your friend suffer for your sake. It must also be harsh... if, one day, Legolas should find himself waiting for the day he can finally be free... the day Aragorn dies... Love this! :) |
| Aranna Undomiel 2007-09-24 ch 2, | abuseGreat, touching story, as usual. Love your describtion of the sealonging and how it shows the depth of their friendship that Legolas is willing to suffer the pain of not sailing, just so he can stay with Aragorn. Sad though that Aragorn will never truly know the depth of that sacrifice, because he doesn't know of the immensity of the pain it brings our poor Elf... Glad you ended on a slightly happier tone ;) |
| Dark Diamond 2007-09-23 ch 2, | abuseAww. That nearly made me cry! Who would have thought that a little detour from Trolls would have led me to this, it is so sad yet so sweet! *Sniffles* I'll definately be following more of your stuff. |
