This story is really perfect.
Touching, well written, balanced in its emotions.
Reading it has been a great joy, also because it leaves a hope.
I suppose that Hermione's words are betraying feelings that she has always concealed, at least of friendship. Imagining what may happen "after" fills the heart with a soothing consolation.

Thank you for sharing.

another beautifully written story. JK stopped too early, no mention anywhere of post traumatic stress syndrome, of how the survivors cope with the aftermath. You explain some of the struggles Snape went through during his life from his point of view and you do it justice, especially having to participate in (or at least witness) horrendous cruelties, and being despised and mistrusted by both sides. and now he has hope for the future.
Lovely!

I loved it! it was very poetic and moving. I like the fairy-tale like feel, and the premise was original. Nice job!

I like the comparison of his watching her to his relationship with Lily, and the difference being more of maturity and realization of a person who can accept him for who he is, in spite of the rough edges. Also, the tentative nature of his watching her has a gentle touch.

Snape’s analyze of his own nature is very interesting.
I like when he remembers he was different as a child, more open and trustful with dreams and freedom.
You were right in underline that with Hermione, he sees the opportunity to show “not too late” of having learnt to appreciate the real value of the persons, beyond the beauty and admiration they can evoke. This time he can choose better than what he did in his youth.
Very good when you write that he realizes to have found in her a special person, able to care for him without being discouraged by his bad words and manners. That is a great conquer for his chance to a new and serene life.

Thanks for this. What made his death in canon so horrible was partly the apathy with which they viewed it.

You capture Snape very well and touchingly in this one I think: especially the fact that he hated being forced not to save people as much as being forced to hurt people, and the way he'd never really thought much about how cold most people were to him until he had somebody kind and warm to compare them with.

This is very well written, but I would have liked for you to explain how he lived after being bitten.
