*sniff* Wow I miss this story. *sigh* Don't suppose it'll ever be finished now? *hopeful look*

Hm. That is one of the absolute worst places to abandon a story, so I do hope you haven't abandoned it and are simply busy with real life issues. I understand how... absorbing those can get.

Anyway, I must say that despite some typos here and there, I have quite enjoyed the writing of this story and the content, as well. I like your Watson-voice quite a bit, and this particular construction of Holmes' backstory is a delight to read, for all that it inspires disgust of his father and pity and sorrow for Sherlock - and for Mycroft, as well.

I am desperately curious to read more, so I hope you haven't abandoned this entirely.

Yours truly,
Snarky

UPDATE!

This story is excellent. Like others have said, I like your Watson voice. I'm a sucker for a good h/c story involving Holmes and Watson. I eagerly await the next part.

Side-note: Aw, Holmes really, truly does *love* Watson. He can't stand to live without him to the point of wanting to end his life and is deeply jealous of Mary. Those are some strong feelings "friendship" on his part.;)

Oh gosh, dense me just noticed this update! Grr..

OH GOSH! What the heck just happened?? I mean, I'm guessing the cab hit him, but he'll be alright, won't he? The suspense is awful! Please do update soon!

Oh and I just had a question, is William Holmes still living?? The very idea gives me the absolute shivers...

That's a very beautiful poem and I see how it pertains to Holmes. Oh God, but please don't tell me Sherlock's going to die! Please, don't let him die. How can he be so selfish? What of Watson? This will break his heart and destroy their friendship! I beg you to update soon!

I love the way you write so that it can be taken both ways, slash or not! Either way, this was very well written. Holmes' anguish, depression, jealousy, and even a slight of his possessive nature come through very well.

I love the way you describe the sky in the beginning, making it one with Holmes' moods. Brilliant! Just brilliant! And then you continue it subtly throughout the chapter!

A wonderful use of Hopkins as well and very appropriate for Holmes. Given the construct you've used of his life, it is clear why he fears loving and losing (they all leave in the end). I love his denial too...so very Holmes.

Keep up the good work and I hope uni is treating you well.

Do I see this as slash...well...maybe I do :), but I can see it the other way. I like slash...especially when its very deep and deals with the dichotomies of Holmes' behaviour and his acceptance of his emotions. Heck, I even like non-slash in that context. However, your work is well written, full of conflicting emotions (acceptance vs. denial), and we all know that Watson is really the only person Holmes ever "let in." I'm certain they loved each other (whether it be as friends or something more...that's up to the reader to decide). So either way, Holmes would still have this conflict of making attachments and going "soft," whether it be in the name of friendship or love. I will say, I do love that flare against Morstan...

Ok..I think I'll stop rambling now. I'll keep my eyes peeled for your next update :) .

I simply love that poem and it seems perfect for Holmes and Watson, slash or no slash. Beautifully written part! I love how you portrayed Watson's unconditional love for Holmes, despite everything, and the poignant way in which Holmes felt he had to give up the one person he loves. Sometimes I wish Holmes wasn't so...Holmes! If he thought with his heart and not with his head, he'd find life much easier. But it does create a lot of angst which I enjoy! Please update soon :-)

Quite frankly, I believe Doyle would have been game for slash. He was a close friend of one Mr. Oscar Wilde, and was a defender of various minorities.

What a beautiful take on the Falls... As always, I await the next chapter.

Guh?

Uh?

Oh...

"Mary Mortensen" = Mary Morstan, or was that intentional?

So, Holmes engineered the Final Problem. >.< >.< >.< >.<

No fair, no fair, no fair...

Nice poem.

I *knew* it was Holmes who had leapt in front of that carriage! Thank you so much for continuing this, I was so afraid you wouldn't. Of course Holmes does not actually die... does he?
