It's a great story for a first songfic and for a first story about a certain anime. I really liked it! I'm glad Kaoru is over Hikaru and met a new girl! I love the song too! Not really a fan of Avril, but that's a nice song! I think it was a really great attempt.

I really think this sentence is fitting: "thanks for acting like you cared, and making me feel like I was the only one." It really fits them! And of course: "We were meant to be, supposed to be, but we lost it." Because they always seemed so perfectly together and then Haruhi came and destroyed it all! Meh! Stupid Haruhi! XD Well, not really, I just don't like how she came between them like that. Oh, well, I'm just a really HikaruxKaoru fan. But, this isn't about your story anymore, so I'll just shut up XD

So... Great first attempt! Please write more stories about them, I'd love to read them!
