I'm unsure as to whether or not demons are better equiped than angels, actually.

In one of the deleted scenes on the Dogma DVD, there's a line about how angels used to be, well, more anatomically correct. So I suppose it would be a matter of whether God changed that before or after the war with Lucifer, and if it was after, if it also applied to those who had already fallen.

So unless there's a specific line in canon regarding the anatomy of demons, then I think it's a loophole. I can't remember if there is, right now. (I just love being able to remember things that didn't make it into the theatre, but not necessarily what did.)
