I mean, Petunia couldn't have ALWAYS been a puppet right? (Well she probably could have, but that's not the point.) Fritz possibly felt that there was no way he could take care of two children by himself.

I'm still kinda torn between Petunia dying during childbirth or just up and leaving him and the kids (which would explain puppet!Petunia's nasty attitude).

But I like how when he showed the kids the puppet, everything just seemed to fall into place and all was right with the world.

Ohh, I think I'm going to cry! Poor, poor Fritz...This is such a perfect story and is so true, I believe. Wonderful, if not really sad, work.

This is really good! Your story was very well written, and as it being your first, congradulations! When I saw the movie, I also concluded that Petunia was deceased and that the puppet was a... representative, if you will, of her role as a Robinson member.
