I suppose it must be like someone who has been adopted, whose biological parents are unknown and who have never been able to come to terms with that fact: something in the puzzle of their life is missing. Unless you are in that position yourself, I don't suppose you can imagine what that must feel like, especially if your upbringing was good or passable.
