I could've sworn I reviewed this thing before I registered. Oh well. I loved this one too. So real and understated and everything between the lines and love the emotion, the moments, the deeper stuff you weave in beneath. Lovely.

Wicked. Remy wanting to protect Rogue from having a similar fate as him was very well written.

I really liked the first scene, with Remy's detailed thoughts on Rogue's words and actions as well as his own demons. Jean Luc's persistent voice was realistic and brought out Remy's true feelings on familial obligation much more than anyone else would have.

This was a very thoughtful fic and memorable for it. :)

This story, small as it is, is extraordinary. As talented as X-Men fandom is as a whole, and as fun as it is to read the many permutations of Rogue/Gambit in its stories, I think you are really one of the handful who can give these characters dimension. People love to write about them, but I feel that they rarely write them well.

I love this story because it's real. It is a mature, measured performance in fanfic. It's well-written (no dreaded 'Ah' as pronoun -- I don't understand why this continues in fic; it's ridiculous); it draws on canon, but does not pander to it; and most importantly it creates a subtle but moving moment of connection between Rogue and Gambit. I think their specific dynamic in Evo-verse has always been ripe for possibilities, and you certainly explored a moving one.

In short: very cool! I'm glad to see you are working again in 2008. I'm new to this corner of X-fandom, and I'm delighted to see authors like you in it.

I loved the Remy motivations in this one. I really wasn't expecting mystique to show up.

Ok, so I really like this story. Its very well written and all I just have a small problem with the time scale. Its 2:30 when they leave NY and yet they have time to have slept a least a little bit by 5am in Mississippi. Also having stopped for food. But other then that it is really a wonderful story and I loved it. Keep up writing you are doing a great job.

That was really, shockingly good. I've been away from Evo-verse for a while because things just got...horrible. Bad writing, cliched plots...I was in pain. I'm so glad to see that new talent has come to the fandom. This was a really good fic.

Thank you for another one of your great fics. Your fics are pretty much the only Remy/Rogue ones that I read nowadays. Hope I'm not missing any good ones.

Figured if I give this fandom a break I'll give time for new story lines. Don't want to have too much of a good thing anyway.
