It was hilarious! I like how everything gets blown out of proportion, and there's this brief moment where there's all this chaos and confusion and then everything settles down really quickly like nothing ever happened.

The blood phobia thing so reminded me of my dad. Imagine this big 5'10", 180 lbs man can't handle the site of blood. My mom told me that one time when she was dating him and he had to give blood, my dad slowing slid from the chair and onto the floor. He was completely passed out and they just started to extract the blood. From then on my mom knew that my dad had to be laying down whenever he gave blood. So I don't think it was dumb or out of character.
