Intriguing. I didn't know that Cubertronians could download human memories. Nightshade is a fascinating character...and I have a gut feeling she's going to rip Starscream to pieces for hitting on her so crudly. Update soon, I like this and I want to know what happens.

Well, that's simply not good. I am kind of wondering how all this will turn out, this is refreshingly unpredictable.

Goodness, Frenzy was such a bad, naughty 'Con... It must annoy him to no end when he found the data he needed was actually written on those fragile papers instead of being saved in the computer system. And he really learned a lot of curses and rude words of the human language after landing on Earth - the little robot just chattered so fast that I had to spend extra time on the reading in order to figure out what he was saying during his hacking mission.

So Carol is really dead... I felt so sorry for her. Hope she's in a better place now. Aside from the tragic death of Carol, I do love the way you wrote Will and Ironhide here in this chapter. The Autobot weapons specialist might be sort of mean to the his human allies sometimes, but since Will didn't take the bot's attitudes overly offensive, then I guess there won't be any problem about their friendship. The descriptions of their acts and dialogue also fit their personality pretty well. Ironhide is never a nanny type of robot, so it does make sense that he won't be protecting Will and looking out for the human all the time right in the middle of war field like a mother protecting her own precious child... If the black mech really did that, perhaps Will might feel kind of degraded. He's a professional soldier himself, after all.

By the way, the intense confrontation between Ironhide and Nightshade in this chapter almost made me stop breathing. I was so worried about Nightshade's true identity being revealed in front of Will and Ironhide while reading the story, yet I was also secretly hoping that Ironhide could find something suspecious on the plane and the hologram... And the action scenes here are wonderfully written. The scene of a calm Nightshade fighting gracefully against a deadly dangerous Ironhide was really breath-takingly awesome! The song "Bodies" suit the mood of battling perfectly, too.

It's great to know that you're still working on this amazing fic. No matter how long it would take, I'll always be eagerly looking forward to every update from you! Oh, and sorry if you find any crappy grammar mistake in this review, since English is not my native language... just wanted to leave some messages here to let you know that I really love your work. Yay! You’ve finally updated! It’s certainly been a long time coming, yes? I was starting to think all the chatter on msn was just that, chatter, and we would never see the next chapter of ‘Vapour Trails”. It makes me fear for how long the wait will be for the next chapter... O_o But, of course, the summer is coming up, and hopefully time will crop up during those months of semi-freedom, barring work and life in general invading personal time.

I have to say, though- you certainly have not gone rusty at all in your writing. I absolutely adore the opening scene with Frenzy and his antics! xD I’m not a fan of the character in general, mostly because he annoys the pants off me with all his gibbering, but your characterization of him is hilarious! I’m especially cracking up with his “Ohshit” and “Fuckfuckityfuckfuckfuck!’- sure, it’s a little immature to be laughing at the swearing robot, but I can’t help it, it’s funny, and certainly suited to Frenzy’s erratic personality. Go figure the little human-hater would take on English swear words instead of employing his own. Even funnier was Freny’s adventures with the analog- I just about peed myself thinking about how insulting a paper trail would be to beings of such vast technological superiority... Frenzy must think we’re just huge wads of paper-pushing carbon puss. I can just imagine him rustling through the filing cabinets looking for the right file. xD

His kerfuffle with the private was pretty epic too! Frenzy wiped the floor with him! xD It’s just too bad he wasn’t able to make a clean get away... *sigh* The base alerms always have to go off at the wrong time, don’t they? Or right time, depending on what side you’re on. ^^;

Your characterization of Scorponok was terrific, though. I enjoyed the simplicity of his thought patterns, which was a nice break from the normal complexity of everyone else’s. My heart got tugged on a little with the idea that Blackout had urged Scorpy to stay, and then he never returned for the little bot. Poor Scorpy. He’s holding up well, though. Thank goodness Nightshade is there to cuddle and coddle him and make him feel better. But the way you ended his little scene... his thoughts slowly gearing up for the ominous attack in the future... “Scorponok always obeyed”- man, that sent a shiver down my spine! As he sunk beneath the sand, all I could picture was a crocodile somewhere sinking beneath the water, preparing to strike some unsuspecting victim, and then the theme from “Jaws” started playing...

Ironhide and Will’s interactions for the win! I love the banter they have with each other, as well as the added input of Nightshade. It’s relatively surprising that she’s able to put on such a convincing show of humanity that Will doesn’t even realize it’s not his friend, especially seeing as Nightshade is so new to the planet. I guess having scanned Carol’s brain and downloading the fragments of information the woman had would have helped, but even so, instruction is a little different from application.

The undercurrents of the conversation between the three of them was amazing; there was humour, humanity, suspicion, stubbornness, smugness, deception- it was great!

The battle between good ol’ Ironhide and Nightshade was pretty epic, too. You sure can write an action scene! They were so evenly matched, between Ironhide’s bulk and firepower and Nightshade’s speed and blade. I was practically on the edge of my seat cheering for both sides as they fought (though I think I was cheering for Ironhide more, seeing as he is a favourite of mine. ^^;) Nightshade was pretty lucky to have gotten away, though... Had Ironhide managed to clip her wings then and there, I’m sure there wouldn’t be enough pieces left of her to fit into a matchbox, let alone interrogate her.

Can’t wait to see what the future hold for the fic!

The fight scene was so cool, I particularly like that Nightshade was a fencer. Her salute was quite classy, I think. Poor Will though, I still feel a little sad about what happened to Carol.

Gosh, I love the Ironhide in your fic so much - he's so tough! I couldn't help but grin at the conversation between him and Will.

So Carol is dead...? I feel sorry for the female pilot. Poor girl, she hasn't done anything wrong... *sighs* Now Nightshade is going to put her enemy infiltration training to practical use right in front of the most dangerous Autobot weapons specialist. I wonder if Ironhide has already found out that the Nighthawk - or the woman in the cockpit - is actually a Decepticon in disguised...

Aww, Frenzy is so adorable! So is Scorponok - I'd never thought these Decepticons can be this cute! The scene of Nightshade tending Frenzy and the way she cares for the symbiotes somehow made my heart feel warm. It seems that Barricade tends to abuse his symbiote a lot, yet Frenzy's reaction is kind of funny and I have no doubt that one day the little silver hacker will drive the Saleen police cruiser crazy if their "companionship" continues...

I wonder what Nighshade is planning to do next. She seems pretty resourceful and obviously the femme is plotting something... Perhaps she will claim all the power once she gets back to Cybertron? She was Megatron's mate, after all.

This story is wonderfully written, and the prequel is as awesome as this fic. Looking forward to your update! :)

Goodness, my eyes began to water when I read the very first paragraph... The describing of Scorponok's feelings really touched me and I nearly cried while reading this short chapter. I love the way you depicted Scorponok and Blackout's relationship very much, the use of words and sentences is in a simple way yet it's very moving. Nice work! Your writing is incredibly fantastic!

At first I didn't get much of it, but when I read the prequel and then the fic again... something clicked somewhere there ;P

Nightshade seemed to be a very resourceful femme; she kept Megatron's company after all. I wouldn't be surprised if she fooled all the mechs and got the prize for herself.

When I read the preaquel she seemed to have a liking for Soundwave, and who knows how would it end if Megatron didn't interrupt. Is she going to try her luck with him again after Megatron is gone? They could always rule the Decepticons together ;P
