I don't know if you watch the British series 'Torchwood', but your descriptions of Miroku's plight reminded me chillingly of a situation recently covered in that show, as well... a character 'mostly died', but as a consequence, could no longer feel, eat, breathe, heal, etc. His life became a living hell of being made of glass and not knowing any of the pleasures of life.

*shudder* disturbing, and tragic...

i love the way this was written, even though i'm slightly confused because i haven't been keeping up with the most recent inuyasha translations (seeing as japan is ahead of the english translations by what, 20 books?) i'm only on book 26- pity i can't afford the next 6 books...

It's so nice to see a fiction that is up to date with the manga! Yay!

Oh, and the story was really good, too.

Poor Miroku, losing your sense of touch would be awful, and for Miroku especially so. Interesting look at the possible side effects he might of endured from preventing himself feeling pain. That was a good bit of angst, not too much for a non-angst reader like myself, and was still sweet. :)

I agree with Gimpyslair's first comments. Your writing is beautiful, and I am glad that you have decided to write about recent manga. As much as I do love Episodes 118 and 132, the manga has been getting much more deeper into their relationship than the anime ever did, and I am glad that you are elaborating on it.

This one is heartbreaking. I would think that the sense of touch would be one of the most important ones to a man like Miroku. Sango's reaction was also incredibly sad. All and all, a wonderful one-shot.

I am in awe of your writing, by the way. Your "Dressing Wounds" series, "The Blooded", "The Road Not Taken", the other Mir/San one shots: Love them all.

Beautiful story.

A little bittersweet but admittedly the fluff wins out.

Not a bad thing though.

Good luck & best wishes,

First of all: thank you, thank you very much for writing such good and deep M-S fanfictions, and thank you even more for writing recently manga related fanfictions. It's a change from all those bad AU or 132-118 episode related fanfictions.

The shouki wounds arc is so fascinating, and at the same time, it makes me feel so anxious about Miroku's fate (specially after this week's chapter).

Anyway, all this to say that your story gave me chills, the side effect... Man, there's always something that happens to go against their happiness... The joy of angst! I do hope you will write more about the recent chapters.

That's so sad... I should hope that a side effect like that isn't permanent. It's just... sad to think about. Yeah Miroku can remember, but that's not the same; and what if he has the opportunity to feel something new? He woulsn't know it at all. T.T It's just sad...
