Tatsumaki-sama 2008-11-22 . chapter 1It was interesting to see a conversation between Yoh and Anna about marriage, the symbolism behind the ring and of course, love. You've portrayed them perfectly, especially Anna's line of haunting Yoh when she dies. ^^ They're such a great couple and you have done a wonderful job writing this. |
Adi88 2007-09-29 . chapter 1Ah, yes… I’ve been missing this… and I shall have at least a general footing for the fandom thanks to Sakura No Umi, Chocolove, and Fandom Boy, which is joy.
“You’d better wait until you can afford to buy me a ring with a really big diamond before we get married.”
- Heh. The romantic mood.
“That Faust guy and his wife are married, but they don’t have any rings. I wondered if it wasn’t fashionable anymore.”
- Ah, Yoh, kiddo? Faust, while a wonderful person deep down, may not be the best person to measure fashion on. Even when he got married, he can’t have been the most stable thing ever.
Ohh. I like that. Beautiful way of saying “xnay on the puppy eyes”.
“But why? Spirits live on after death, and people don’t stop loving each other.”
- I’ve always wondered about that part of wedding vows. I mean, I guess it makes sense… they’re Christian vows, right? And heaven is supposed to be above that sort of thing, yes? Still, interesting in the less religious contexts.
“Yoh possesses more than enough empathy to be strong without her adding to it to the point that it hurts him.”
- Mm, pretty sentence. Yess.
“Rings are a symbol of marriage, not love. You can still love without being married.”
- Also lovely. Mm, I want an icon of that too.
“I’ll haunt you even after I die. Don’t you dare think you can get away with turning into a lazy slob the minute I’m gone.”
- Haha. Liking her more and more…
“brilliantly tender.” I’m starting to like Yoh also. [Shinju!Yoh, which is different from Sakura!Yoh. Obviously.]
“Still, the graveyard slowly settles into a reluctant, comfortable peace again.”
- And that is the perfect ending. Peace. Graveyards. Marriage and death and rings. You really can’t go wrong. |
