Absolutely beautiful. You should definitely write a fleshed out story of Cosette after marriage and with children!

Brilliant. I love the suspense.

Damn, woman! You're really good at building suspense, even in short pieces like this. You're patient, and you trust your audience to be patient as well, which is an amazing a rare talent. A lesser story would have been slobbering all over itself to let us know why things were so tense, and instead, you leave it at a slow burn. And the fact that we never even find out what Cosette did? Fantastic!

Very nice, angsty, but nice...I can understand where Marius is coming from. My sister recently lost her child.

Ouch. Poor them. I get the feel they're trying to recover from a tragedy of some sort, but things happen too soon for them, eh? Nice style there, mon amie.
