| Rhiannon B 2007-10-04 ch 1, | abuseI've been a bit delayed in my response to this, but that doesn't mean I loved it any less. Yeash, what a conclusion! I think this is my favorite of your story settings, with all its winding twists and turns, starting way the hell back with the very first of your stories that I read. It's been a fun ride, starting with weird/disconnected Bob, through normal-as-he-gets Bob, all the way into Evil!Hrothbart. Harry... well, Harry agonizes a lot, but that's pretty much Harry for you. The Trickster is quite possibly one of my favorite OCs in fanfic, which I've gushed about in multiple reviews, I'm sure. I'm such a mythology geek, and he's just so wonderfully... trickster-ish. Quite terrible, manipulative, selfish, (mad, bad, and dangerous to know?) and when he does the right thing, it's mostly just to ** someone off, but, all the same, I can't help but like him. And that's how I should feel after seeing a trickster diety in a story. I like my fiction character driven, and you never fail to deliver on that account. Now that I've rambled a bit... please allow me to ramble further. I was happy to see the Abscido again; I was wondering if they'd show up in another one of your stories after seeing them in the one about Bob's history. Harry's initial conversation with them made me laugh, particualrly his snarky little asides about being transported into a musical, and ‘This Is Your Life’. The fact that Harry finally got a punch in on the trickster was a happy thing -- I'm sorry, but it's been a long time coming. In case I've managed to miss the main point in my somewhat less than concise review here, I totally dug it. You did a great job, as usual, and I hope to read more of your stuff in the future! |

I was so pleased to read to you'd actually gone the distance and made him human. I could just imagine that scene at end where Harry cries on Bob's shoulder. It was a beautiful moment and the rain made it even more so. I look forward to reading your future stories. Hopefully, they continue on from here. Great work! |
