I agree with your author's notes that the characters are a little OOC, but this line -- “Nothing, that is, will you--dinner?” -- is so amazingly Zuko that it snaps the entire story back into focus.

It's too bad that your muse seems to have fled again, as I feel like the story was just picking up, but muses are fickle like that. Fair winds!
