| Count Boobu 2008-03-06 ch 7, | abuseI found the story to be a little...unbelievable. Having read the Halo books and played the games religiously (as I'm sure you have), I just found it hard to swallow having an Elite in charge of the humans and not having that big of a deal made of it. Yes, I know you did put a bit of that idealogical tension inside of the story but then I felt it got pushed under the rug. And I guess I didn't care for Telek being able to pwn Master Chief in a single bound and blab on about how he was so much more stronger than he was. Even in the game, the Arbiter (who you claim is the best warrior in the entire Covenant army) was on the same level as the Chief. All these complaints aside, did I hate the story? Absolutely not. I thought Telek was a great original character with a sense of humor that reminded me of Bender from Futurama. If Bender was a killer robot, like he always said he was, he would be Telek. The action scenes, as well as the dramatic narrative, were all beautifully described, and I couldn't help but to grin when I saw President Kiryuu Knight walk onto the stage. And you know I've been very critical of your Kiryuu saga, so this is definitely a thumbs up IMO. I also found it funny how the UNSC Marines fired on Telek. I know I've fired on my fellow Elites many a times while playing Halo 2 and 3, so that scene brought back some funny memories. You know the Halo universe extremely well, and although this version of it wasn't completely to my liking, I could very well imagine seeing this happen in-game. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this trilogy and the additional side stories. All criticism and seriousness aside of this different sort, it was an extremely well made fanfiction and kept my thorougly entertained. Thanks for continuing to prove that not all fanfiction sucks. ;) |
| nightdragon0 2008-01-14 ch 7, | abuseTelek is certainly a pretty fun character. And his athics are pretty amusing in the sense that they seem to make both human and Sangheili think he's either crazy or drunk (or both). While it's somewhat rewriting the events of the game, I think it's done in a way that makes it flow rather well. The best parts are pretty much the Johnson & Telek arguements/exchanges. I can really imagine Johnson saying all those sorts of things. Well, I got rather confused by some of the odd Sangheili names and the whole president Kiryu thing until I realized it was a crossover of sorts after taking a look at the prequel. But I guess thoese weren't the main point of the story. |
| Nyhtmare 2008-01-10 ch 1, | abuseVery well done! Sorry I haven't read for a while, but now I am inspierd to start reading your work once again!! |

| imperial1scout 2008-01-03 ch 7, | abuseHoly crap, this is good. I have to say, I am sure glad I've found it. You are very good at this. |
| Spog the Brick in The Wall 2008-01-01 ch 7, | abuse“The only thing you can get on your radio—is PBS. And us.” LOL Great story but why are the Elite names human? The Arbiter is Otto? Now when I imagine the Arbiter all I see is him with long black hair, a baseball cap, and headphones blaring Edgar Winter's Frankenstein. Kind of weird. And Angst? Sure there were Angst-ish parts in the story but it feel more like an adventure/drama story. I've also noticed that our writing styles are pretty close to the same. Writing serious things and adding cheeky and sarcastic comments in between. Do you read Stephen King? Because when I write I try to imitate him. |
| Spog the Brick in The Wall 2007-12-31 ch 1, | abuseExcellent story. Nothing better than a DSUI. |
| cHr0n0sPh3r3 2007-12-31 ch 7, | abuseWOO HOO! UPDATE! Ahem great chapter, although i'm still not liking the Godzilla crosses, it still great. So our good cap- Rear admiral's former mentor is the Arbiter eh? nice |

| Yellow Hat17 2007-12-30 ch 1, | abuseSo far I've only read chapter one but this great so far. Can't wait to finish it! :-) |
| AliciaF 2007-11-03 ch 5, | abuse“Captain Keyes is on that ship.” “Again?!” Telek asked. “Son-of-a-**!” LOL Those were my thoughts exactly when I played that level. Keyes must have seriously liked that ship to go back again...lol Anyway I LOVE Telek's character. When I first read this series I was amused by an alcoholic Sangheili. Can't wait to see more of him. :) |
| Gaereth 2007-10-29 ch 6, | abuseWow. Yet another great chapter, if a bit shorter than normal. Even so: great job. 'Til next time, Gaereth |
| SkyHighFan 2007-10-28 ch 6, | abuseThe Pillar of Autumn was damaged beyond repair, there's no way the Flood could have repaired that. It had too many holes in it and the novel version confirmed that it'd never fly again. The Truth and Reconciliation was different: that crusier had been damaged by the Autumn un battle but was still salvagable |
